Can't find anything to break!
I like to modify my cars, but I can't bring myself to do it until something breaks. I've had this car for almost 2 years, and I haven't had to replace anything but the battery and the exhaust ( The exhaust wasn't broken, but I decided to hop it up anyways). I have owned 7 cars, and this one is better than a '99 Civic, '92 Olds, 2001 Focus, or even a '91 Camaro. This was the smartest car buy I have made yet.
Love my Saturn!
I have had minimal problems with my Saturn SL1. Tires and breaks have been the major problems. I did have a transmission problem at 40,000 miles, but the dealership paid for more than 1/2 of the repair costs after I complained about having transmissions problems at such a low mileage. Since then my Saturn has been in tip top shape.
Basic Review
Great commute car. Excellent exterior and interior. Daughter now has car. Fuel is great, over 28mph consistently.
Not bad for an American car
My SC2 has been fairly reliable. I like the overall styling on the exterior, the dent-resistant panels and the front-seat interior room. The performance is pretty good for an economy car. Cons would have to be the cheap interior parts and the paint on the front bumper and mirrors has chipped very easily.
Good Car Value
I've had my Saturn SL2 since 8/98. Other than getting a bolt tightened on one of the windshield wipers ($19.50), I've had no out-of-pocket expenses except routine maintenance items. This is my 2nd Saturn since 3/1995. The 1st one was an SL1. I prefer the SL2 because the slightly bigger engine has more accleration and is more fun to drive.
