Evene before we purchased our 2008 Outlook XR AWD we first saw it at the Maine Mall. Now that we have poruchased we made the right choice this is a great crossover SUV. It meets our needs and we do a number of trips to Massachusetts. We enjoy everyhting about the Outlook

This vehicle was chosen carefully - a decision for Outlook versus M-B GL350, CX-9, Highlander, Pilot. Outlook wins out in space, "adult" seat count and access, power/weight ratio, size, driveability, towing and AWD. We also suspected that the fuel economy would be worse than advertised, and it is. We live in the southwest with a lot of flat land and mountain grades as well. I've managed 19 mpg at 75 mph on the freeway. In town, 14-15 mpg. Hey people: when you spend 40 grand on a vehicle you better be able to afford an extra couple hundred bucks a year on gas for driving a 4,700 pound CUV. It's not a giant size Yaris! Our 7,000 lb diesel crewcab 4wdF350 gets 20 mpg but that's another story...

Our has only 100k miles, and it's had the standard replacement repairs, brakes, H2O pump, AC compressor, & tires. Strictly city driven', so I use the best synthetic oil to keep all those sensors happy. And that's the deal, maintenance. Gets 24 MPG hwy. Update: our Outlook only averages 4000 miles annual, and this is a problem for all oil flow sensor don't get used enough to get cleaned while being driven. Frustrating codes; they come & go, so I decided to take 1500 mile trip through 100⁰ heat and prove if I have a bad 3.6. I drove her hard @ 80+ mph, the codes would chime in & quietly go out. She only returned 17.9 mph, she missed a beat when the trans wouldn't shift after heavy stop & go mall shopping. This was repaired 18 months ago. Recycled the ignition, which corrected the shift problem. She still runs great, I couldn't kill her, I love the interior, but at first opportunity to replace her, she's gone. 104335 miles. Too much tech in this 3.6vvt.

Not a Loser Cruiser

I love my new 08 Outlook. It has the room of a van and the stylish look of an SUV. The seats are easy to fold for the younger children and any one who rides in the back has plenty of leg room. Road noise is non existent and the dual air controls for the back lets everyone have the temprature that they want. I recommend this vehicle to everyone who likes a nice ride.

Why Buy the Other Nameplates?

We looked high and low to replace our Honda Pilot this time last year. I saw the Outlook in a magazine and went to see it for myself. My wife wanted another Pilot. I wanted a larger Tahoe/SUV. (Glad we didn't go there now!) After the first year we can honestly say, it is the best automobile we have ever owned! But why would you want to pay more for the GMC/Buick sibling when they are made side by side in the same plant but are thousands more because of the name plate? I have suggested this SUV to many friends and all have six have purchased and all have great things to say.
