Now reliability is becoming an issue. Rear passenger carpet buckling for no reason. Computer system completely crashed while driving to work causing total blackout of PCM and shift lights. Second key fob has been replaced once already with this one failing as well. Drink holder rubber falling off after one use of a small VOSS water bottle. There is also a known issue with window tint on the Panamera for a few years now. (Since I've never liked the prior I never paid too much attention.) Apparently the inner window guides scratch the tint. Front doors only really on my car. Mine isn't bad but I have a perfectly etched line on both of my front windows tint now. There are no proven fixes, either live with it or don't tint. Some people have horrible multi-scratches on their tint making it look awful. So Porsche hooked my car up to their computer and found a fault but have to report to headquarters in Germany for what to do. Hmmmmm $185k for a car I drive to work and all this?? Not too happy. It is a 2018 model as well.

Owned the car for about 10 months and the car was in the shop at dealer for total of 7 months in and out. Yes, I literally drove the car myself about 3 months. There is a true quality issue with this car or perhaps its a Porsche thing. Many fan boys over look all the issue they encounter or they ignore them thinking Porsche is Apple. Arrogant Dealership didn't help. Car was a Lemon and I had to push Porsche to buy back. PCM goes out all the time, car rattled interior and exterior, Chrono clock alwyas stopped working, engine light galore, subwoofer kept going in and out and other issues. Porsche is trying to be too big too fast, until they get their quality under control, they need to go back to basics. I have owned Mercedes, BMW, Land Rover, etc. This by far was the most troubled vehicle. I guess this can be considered a VW Passat with a $140k body kit. Porsche customer care is a joke.

I love this car. Previously had a 2019 Macan 4S (which is an awesome little car) but needed something bigger for all my highway travel. Before that a 2007 MB 550SL (loved it). Bought this one as a lease turn-in with 6400 miles on it. No issues. Ever. Had it for almost 3 years now and nothing but routine service. This is an awesome daily driver with the cajones to impress. More than I need but whatever? My experience? I would recommend the Panamera 4S to anyone.

Ok, I’m 72 years old and have owned a lot of cars. Took delivery of the Panamera Turbo S in August, 2021 after having placed the build order in January and after cancelling my order for a Mercedes AMG GT 63 that was ordered late 2020 but never assigned a production date. This car was to replace one of the best cars I’ve ever owned, a 2012 Mercedes CLS550. Other “best” cars include a 2001 BMW Z3, a 2004 MB SL500 and the 2018 AMG GTC roadster which I presently own and prize as one of the best cars I’ve ever driven. I’ve had many MB’s and BMW’s but never a Porsche, this one was my first and a completely new experience for me. I chose the Porsche Panamera after test driving a Maserati and a Bentley Continental. The Maserati and Bentley were eliminated due to concerns of dealer network coverage in the Mid Atlantic and south eastern states. The Bentley Continental was a beautiful car and an outstanding driver’s car but was eliminated mainly due to the lack of rear seating space. When I found out that the Bentley shared the same frame, engine, drivetrain, etc. features as the Panamera, I decided to check out the Panamera. Glad I did. I’ve owned the car for only nine months and I have to say this car is one of the best driving machines ever made. Be careful on long trips…you just might pass your destination!

Great Car with Few Limitations

2020 Porsche Panamera GTS 4dr Sedan AWD (4.0L 8cyl Turbo 8AM)

This car (Mine is a 2020 GTS) is perfect for an empty nester that likes to take road trips with the wife. Great looks, comfort, versatility, and performance. Infotainment system is said to lag behind others, but it what important way? The steering in the GTS is a bit heavy for every day use. It could use dual mode steering effort: around town and sports/highway. Further note: I no longer consider the steering a bit heavy. The 600+ mile touring range of this car is excellent and the luggage capacity for two on a trip with the rear seats down is excellent. A transient fault with the lane change assist system was corrected by my dealership. Recent prior cars: a 2006 BMW V-10 M5 and a 2013 Porsche GTS. This is the best car I have owned. Follow-up: About 26,000 miles now on the car with no problems encountered. Superb!
