Outlier
Currently driving one that is an SV trim that is a rental I have through work. I was surprised to hear that Consumer Reports rated it the best compact car due to the "refined" transmission and safety features. I don't know what planet they are on but Nissans are known to have very crappy CVTs and unfortunately this one does too. It's not that it's always bad, it's just so far it has performed so inconsistently that it makes it more tedious to drive because you don't know if you press the pedal if it will give you solid acceleration or really whine and be sluggish, which can even be dangerous if you need quick acceleration to merge or pull out in traffic. I've also been disappointed in the gas mileage--a big reason to have this rental as my job has me driving around in city traffic all day. It is "rated" for 29 city 39 highway and so far I've averaged about 21 mpg. In general I tend to subtract 6 mpg for the city rating if driving in a lot of heavy traffic but the Sentra is doing even worse than that. While the 2020 redesign apparently really impressed a lot of people, I still think that a Corolla or Civic is a better choice, but to each his or her own.

2021 Nissan Sentra Issues
Bought new 2021 Sentra in June. Yesterday went to start it and it says key fob not found when it was right on the start button. Then the battery immediately started to drain. Couldn't get the car in neutral to jump it so had to have someone come out and jump it. After jump says engine malfunction, service now, Power reduced. Had it towed this morning to dealership who cant see it until Thursday and no rentals available. Irritating on a new car. Also I couldn't find a spot to stick the actual key into which is on other years.
Safety issues
The cars have tie rod issues that aren’t safe to be on the road and Nissan knows about the issue but won’t take responsibility for it and the passenger seatbelt is no good and doesn’t protect you during a accident if you have one don’t drive the car until fixed
