2025 Nissan Rogue Review
Overview

With its comfortable seating and handy cargo and storage, the 2025 Nissan Rogue is a small SUV that goes big on utility. We also think its crisp lines and creases also make the Rogue one of the more elegant designs among its peers. Outdoor-inclined owners should find the new Rock Creek trim level an intriguing choice, while commuters and road-trippers will rejoice at the Rogue's new optional hands-free driving system and EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 33 mpg combined.
Edmunds spotlight: 2025 Rogue takes to the rocks and the highway
For 2025, the Rogue gets Nissan's off-road-oriented Rock Creek trim level, first seen on the larger Pathfinder SUV. The Rock Creek trim won't be displacing any Jeeps out on the trail, but standard all-wheel drive, 17-inch satin black wheels, all-terrain tires, and reinforced lower-body trim make the Rock Creek more robust than its streetwise counterparts. A tubular roof rack with crossbars offers a place for toys and accessories. For highway-heavy drivers, the Rogue offers Nissan's ProPilot Assist 2.1, a system that allows hands-free driving on premapped roads. Drivers still need to keep their eyes on the road, but this feature can help make long open stretches or grueling stop-and-go commutes less of a chore.
Competitors to consider
Shoppers looking for a small SUV are spoiled for choice, from established favorites like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 to more recent challengers like the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson. The Mazda CX-50, a more rugged take on the long-serving CX-5, is one of our top-rated picks for its outstanding interior and athletic performance. The redesigned Chevrolet Equinox is another viable alternative, especially if you like buying from a domestic brand. Check out our test team's Expert Rating to help you decide if the Rogue is best for you.
Which Rogue does Edmunds recommend?
The new Rock Creek trim is worth a look for buyers who enjoy outdoor life, camping or just getting off the highway. It comes with many of the SV trim's standard and optional features, as well as handy off-road features. Its standard all-wheel drive and all-terrain tires take a toll on fuel economy, though, making it the least efficient of the Rogue lineup at 29 mpg combined. For buyers who'll stick to the streets, we'd suggest the SV. It comes with plenty of tech and conveniences including a power liftgate, a power-adjustable driver's seat and adaptive cruise control. The optional SV Premium package also adds nice-to-have touches such as a panoramic sunroof, synthetic leather and heated front seats.

2024 Nissan Rogue Platinum 4dr SUV AWD (1.5L 3cyl Turbo CVT)
Two days after I purchased my brand new 2024 platinum Rogue I brought it back to the dealer and showed my salesman the blank screen. He said he hadn’t seen that before and randomly pushed buttons, kept turning the vehicle on and off until the infotainment screen finally turned on. He thought it was just a fluke because it was brand new and needed time to finish its programming sequence. … He convinces be it wouldn’t happen again… It continued to happen, and is still happening. I called all the customer service numbers and was told that they will investigate the issue and get back to me. In the mean time I continued to bring the car back to the dealership until I was finally told that “yes “ this is a known defect with the 2024 SL and Platinum versions of the Rogue. The service manager sort of apologized for making me run back and forth until their head engineer could see it happening, and confessed that there is no fix yet, the company is working on developing the software to fix this issue. They said this “fix” could happen any time via satellite, but they had no idea when this amazing fix via satellite would occur. The best part is that when the screen goes blank I have no access to any of the cameras and my side mirrors turn downward when I am trying to park or just back up my car ! I just received a call back from the Nissan powers that be and was told that this issue is not serious enough for them to do anything for me, and that the lemon law does not apply because although I have been back and forth to their service department many more than just three times, those visits don’t count because since there is no fix yet ,they technically haven’t tried to fix the issue three times. I was supposed to be happy that when “the fix” becomes available tomorrow, next month or years from now, they agree to fix this mysterious issue free of charge.
DO NOT BUY a 2024 Rogue SL or Platinum!!!

2024 Nissan Rogue SL 4dr SUV (1.5L 3cyl Turbo CVT)
We bought a brand new 2024 Nissan Rogue SL in May 2024. Almost immediately we had issues with the display/radio unit not coming on when you start the car. We called our local dealer and when we took it back in (driving an hour each way to the dealer) it, of course, worked fine. But about every 8 - 10 times you start the car it doesn’t work, meaning no back up camera, no radio, no … nothing. They admitted that there are many owners of this car that have experienced this problem, but have no solution to offer and don’t seem to be too concerned about fixing it. I think it is about time for a good lawyer to file a class action lawsuit against Nissan to force them to provide an immediate solution, or refund the purchase price and take these lemons back. It is completely unacceptable to spend $40,000+ on a new car and not have your cameras and radios work. We have been a loyal Nissan owner for many years, having two Altima’s previously, but never again.

2024 Nissan Rogue SL 4dr SUV AWD (1.5L 3cyl Turbo CVT)
We just purchased our first Nissan product.
We chose a dark blue Nissan Rogue SL AWD with the premium package. Yes I did research and read the reviews, both good and bad and decided to roll the dice. I've been through the Lemon Law process in the past over a new Chevy truck so I'm not overly concerned. The bonus was that our local family owned dealer gives a lifetime warranty on the … power train with a $100 deductible included for free.
So far we love the open airy feeling, the light oyster colored interior and the moon roof.
If issues start I'll update. So far so good

2024 Nissan Rogue Platinum 4dr SUV AWD (1.5L 3cyl Turbo CVT)
Every 10,000 miles or 12 months it's required to check the CVT fluid, transfer case oil, differential oil. None are do it yourself checks. So every 10.000 miles you'll be paying the dealership a few hundred dollars. If any of those components fail during warranty period and you don't have record of the check, you may be paying for the repair.
We have a limited number of reviews for the 2025 Nissan Rogue, so we've included reviews for other years of the Rogue since its last redesign.
