Used 2022 Nissan Pathfinder Consumer Reviews
Love my pathfinder
Long after looking in 3 row SUVs, last August I bought my platinum 4WD Pathfinder. And I love it. I excluded Hyundai and Kia from my search because those cars are prone to severe issues (in fact sold my Santa Fe for safety reasons). My wife drives Acura RDX and we are happy with it, so we also considered Acura MDX 2022. We excluded Honda Pilot (too dated look and tech), Toyota Highlander (too small third row), and German ones were much more expensive. Did extensive test drive of MDX and Pathfinder and finally settled on Pathfinder for touch screen, cheaper has (regular bd high grade gas with MDX) and lower cost. Little things with pathfinder sometimes bug me but nothing major: (1) I dislike engine shut off every time I stop. I forget to deactivate it almost always. Little annoying thing. (2) the first gear to second gear happens too early. Again this is design of the car to make it fuel efficient but I am not a big fan of it. (3) the cabin air fan for AC or heat is too fast (too high air flow) even at lowest setting. Again, not major but annoying. (4) when driving high speed under heavy rain, rain water comes off driver side window and blocks view of my side mirror. I love seamless wireless connection to my iPhone. Love the drive of the car. Love the 360 camera. Amazing car overall. I currently have 7000 km on it and truly enjoy the drive with it. Living in Canada, I very much appreciate the “snow” drive mode. Neither our 2015 Acura RDX nor our past Hyundai Santafe sport had this feature or was really effective in snow as much as this car.

Back to Too Basics
We had one for a rental for a long weekend trip. It was a bad weather weekend in Boston with lots and lots of snow. Sure the Pathfinder was very sure footed. Never spun a tire and handled all the road conditions like a champ. The size was great but could use a running board. I continually dragged my pant leg getting in or out of the vehicle. The main complaint was the ride. It was much rougher than we expect. It’s not a crossover ride for sure. Our daily at home is an Outback and the Pathfinder just couldn’t outdo my love for the Subaru.

I hate it
This was a bad purchase. I hate my new Pathfinder. The electronics are very glitchy and cause driving distraction because I have to constantly reset settings and add and delete my phone to carplay to work. As for towing it is so stupid. When in tow mode the dang thing does not disable the rear sensors so as soon as you try backing with a trailer is locks up the brakes which is annoying and just plain stupid. The passenger seat is way to low so low passengers can’t see out the windshield. Looks nice but the engineering is way off and the vehicle feels cheaply built and flimsy. I would not recommend this vehicle as it totally missed the mark. Once again very buggy in the firmware department and towing mode completely sucks.

NO automatic car washes !
Trim pieces have been ripped off twice after going through a car wash. Nissan accepts zero responsibility. It’s the same car wash that I’ve used for 15+ years and multiple cars - never had any problems. Tires were worn out after 40k miles ( the majority highway). They put the absolute cheapest tires on the car ( I paid $52,000).

Need bench in higher trims.
Finally no CVT. But why US doesn’t get second row heated bench in higher trims? Canadian do, US dont. And car build in US. If I need captan seats I will by mini van. Nissan, there are so many potential buyers goes away. Read forums, learn your market. Engine is good, trany is finally better one. Interior could be better, a lot of plastics, but for this price not too bad.
