2024 Nissan Armada Consumer Reviews

Armada -meh
The 2020 Nissan Armada had a nice soft ride and road handling was good. The suv drove more like a car than a truck. Plenty of room inside for our family of four and all our gear. On the negative side, gas mileage was low (15 mpg) . Air/wind noise above 55 mph was noticeable and annoying on long trips. The entertainment system is at least 4 years behind the industry. My 2015 Toyota had more advanced features than the Nissan. Most aggravating negative and the major reason I got rid of it was due to a vibration that started around 40,000 miles. Vibration would occur around the shift points (1200 and 1800 rpms) and tachometer would bounce around until it shifted. There was a very noticeable feel in the gas pedal and a audible droning sound especially if the car was under load. Multiple visits to the dealer and I was told they couldn’t duplicate it. I even drove with them and reproduced it easily but they said it was within normal behavior limits for the car. Well if that’s normal or acceptable for this manufacturer , then I would recommend to stay away.
Awesome Value if You Can Look Past all That Chrome
After my 2013 GMC Yukon hit 200K miles, we were in the market for what will be our last big family hauler. On my "must have" list was - 4WD, leather, a V8 engine (without AFM), 2nd row captains chairs, reliability and wireless CarPlay. This list with the exception of the CarPlay and V8 is basically table stakes for the segment. I looked at the latest GMCs and Chevys and could not stomach the pricing even for used. Similarly lightly used V8 Sequoias can no longer be found for a reasonable price. The Armada wasn't initially on my radar. 2 styling elements had turned me off: 1.The copious amounts of chrome 2. the badonkadonk-like rear bumper that juts out from the silhouette. When two different people offered up praise for their Armadas (minus the low MPGs) I figured it couldn't hurt to look. It checked all my boxes. Built in Japan. Reliable V8 Endurance Engines that have been in production for over a decade. A plush cabin that for the platinum trim is really just a down badged QX80. And the kicker... with the completely redesigned Armada on the way for the 2025 model year... there were deals to be had on the 2024! After having the car for 6 months, I can honestly say I look forward to having this beast for 200K miles. To drive this car is to love it. It feels like a plushly appointed tank. The engine sounds great and after finding out all of it's other awesome attributes, the quirky looks have grown on me. I would buy exactly the same vehicle if I had the chance to do it all again. Oh and bonus points because it doesn't have that annoying "feature" where it stops and starts the ignition at every red light like most new cars these days.

Long term long haul.
Owned 3 Armadas, two first generation, 2007, 2012 and our 2017 we purchased when they first hit the US market. All have been terrific vehicles and neither of them once have been back to the dealer for anything. Only complaint was with the 2017 we have now was battery seemed to struggle sometimes starting but I researched the problem being a gas saving feature Nissan incorporated to stop the alternator from charging during acceleration and certain driving conditions. This takes a toll on a battery. I disabled the feature and haven't had any battery struggles since. Also there was another problem it seemed to help tremendously was transmission shifting. The transmission was being affected by battery irregular voltage causing shifting points to be unpredictable. Since now it has a constant voltage the electronically shifted transmission is much smoother and less hesitant downshifts. I recommend the Armada if your looking for a dependable long term vehicle and not one to change a vehicle regularly because resale is not good. If you want power comfort and towing abilities and don't mind the frequent gas pump. I your a while shopper then it isn't for you because this is a long term long haul vehicle.

Love This SUB
I bought this SUV for my wife who wanted a full size SUV. After doing our due diligence it was a no brainer to select the Armada. The vehicle is luxuries, plenty of room and large cargo area. It rides smooth with lots of power. The interior is surprisingly quiet. The sounds system delivers nice quality sound. This vehicle doesn’t have as many bells and whistles as its competitors but for the price is is well worth foregoing some of the extras. It has the options most buyers need.
