Used 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Consumer Reviews
Nice Car
Love the car and the features. It is technology heavy and most of the features are not intuitive. I read owner's manuals when I get a new car, but even that isn't easy. Fortunately I can bring the car back after having it awhile with questions on how things work. Would really like a feature that automatically locks the doors when you close them (my Corvette has that and I love it), but no luck.

Reasonable Mid Size Luxury Car
I bought E300 for my wife two years ago, she put 19,000 mile on it and so far no major issue we had to change one of the tires only, the car ride smoothly although it is missing the air suspension system, very nice technology and interior looking

More I drive more I find things not design well
I was very happy test drive and very impressed with the car during test drive. I sold my 2011 V6 Honda accord for this car and 2017 E300 is slower and smaller than that accord I sold. Base E300 is slower than previous generation of base trim E350.Its also slower, smaller and less fuel efficient than BMW 530 and Volvo S90. I know Mercedes uses same engines for E class as the C class but beside the base trim (E300) other E class trim/ models produces more hp from the same engine as in C class. To me this indicates that Mercedes does not consider base trim as significant. The combo of touch pad and rotary wheel for central control is not ergonomicaly designed. It causes wrist pain if you have to scroll through long list of songs/album through rotary wheel and trying to avoid input from touch pad right on top of it. it helps to have controller pad on steering wheels but they dont work with CarPlay or android auto. The two screen design looks cool but the position makes it harder to see left 1/3 of central screen when you have hands of steering wheel . I cant even see all the menus/icon on left side of the screen specially in CarPlay mode.It also does not help that its not a touch screen like in Volvo S90 or bow 530 . BMW and Volvo also comes with 3 year complimentary maintain program where as Mercedes does not. Some features are not even available on Mercedes like Active Grille, Touch screen for central information system or wireless Apple car play. There is cost cutting apparent from poor sun glass holder that cannot accommodate for bigger Aviator style sun glasses and lack of any padding over the edge of thigh extension in front seats .So in long journey it pushes against your leg and that area is not heated as well. E class is louder inside compare to standard 530 I or Volvo S 90, you have to pay extra for acoustic comfort package to make car quieter inside . There are asymmetric design present in cabinet for example why didnt they make driving mode selector and volume roller same style/ texture if they are on apposite side of central control unit .There are 3 steering mount control stick on Left and 1 on right side. Mercedes cramped windshield wiper control, cruise control and steering adjustment as well as steering wheel heating control on Left side of steering. It requiring very long time to learn all the controls. The steering wheel does not seems to be in center bceause there is not much room for your thigh on Right side compare to left and it becomes uncomfortable during long journey. I live in cold winter area and even after spending 6500 on premium 2 package that gives me rapid heating for front seats, 450 on heated and ventilated front seats and 1320 for active / massaging front seat I have to pay extra for heated Rear seats. Where as in BMW 530 you dont have to pay as much to get rear seat heating .

great car, a victim of german over-engineering
Can you believe that there is no CD player in my 2018 E43AMG. They had no reasonable answer but told me that there were other techie things to use. That means I have to buy some additional electronic, but I want to listen to a book or a music disk. I don't want to have to transfer the tracks to a stick. Really dumb. Also the auto stop/start does not afford one the ability to turn it off and leave it off. You have to push the button each time you start the car. Every other car maker allows the driver (owner) to make this decision. It is so annoying it would have been a deal-breaker had I known that ahead of time.
