Used 2004 Lexus RX 330 Consumer Reviews
Not up to Par
This is my 4th new Lexus since 1990. Build quality is bad and not up to Lexus Standard. Transmission even with the re-program is worst I have driven. At 30 to 40 MPH gears change very rough. Based on the Lexus name and high rating from Consumer Report Lexus is not willing to admit a problem. Gas mileage is very sub par, and high wind noise from side view mirror and roof rack
Nice Ride
This car takes the stress out of driving. The ride is quiet and smooth. The car is so quiet that you can appreciate the high quality sound system. You are isolated from all the madness around you in the comfort of leather. The navigation system took me from my garage to a resort in Lake Tahoe CA without a miss (Unlike a back seat driver).

A Great SUV
We've owned this one since new. With 70,000 miles reliability has been excellent. We keep the car away from the dealers to insure only the maintenance requirements specified in the owners manual are performed. After the initial two free services by the Lexus dealer, the car has never needed to go back. I would say the interior quality of the prior Lexus RX300 is a little better. Performance is best using premium fuel with little to no acceleration hesitation as you get with regular fuel. The original stock tires (Goodyear) were poor for this level of car. Ride and driving are fine. Pressure gradiant when one window open that you feel with the ears. We managed 28 mpg on highway.
Great Car
I love this vehicle, but my kids hate it, they don't have the space like they had in the LR3, but we don't use this as our family vehicle. It is a lot better on gas and I got this as a steal so it was hard to pass up especially with the unpredictable gas prices. Sporty look is great, a features are fine. I haven't taken it on a road trip yet but probably won't (I'll use the minivan). This car handles great and has a lot of features that are not standard in other vehicles. I bought this one used so let see how it stands up to the Lexus reputation of quality and endurance.
I Didn't Think It Could Be This Improved
Traded our 01 RX300 for an 04 RX330. The improvements are astounding from an already excellent vehicle. The tilt and telescope wheel, tighter handling, more HP, steering wheel mounted stereo controls plus other subtle changes make the new RX just outstanding. The NAV system is excellent and very intuitive. The Levinson sound system is superb. The backup camera is an excellent addition. The DVD entertainment system is very good, but just a bit overly complicated to use. The dealership is outstanding. If you go in with reasonable expectations, you quickly come out with a fine vehicle and no heartburn.
