NAV system terrible

In Canada, do not waste your money on Nav system. I live in Toronto and have had no end of troubles. Canada is an after-thought and even Lexus Canada will admit that the Nav system is woefully inaccurate and incomplete. Often advised that "house number does not exist". Entire towns in the Maritimes do not exist (St. Andrews, NB). Rely on this system and you will get lost and stay lost. In Quebec you better know the french names. System frequently sends me down blind alleys and blocked streets in Toronto. Lexus says sorry but read fine print, NICE service, eh!

I must say that Lexus has come through with replacing all the interior problems that the car had . Dashboard , Door panels, center armrest and all the interior trimmings has been replaced with high grade material at no cost. The only part which is still on back order is the glove box. Once that is replaced the inside will look like s brand new car. Kudos to Lexus.received the glove box. I would want a minimum of $15.000 in trade in

Problems with the LS

I had owned many luxury American cars. The LS Ultra Luxury L is my first non American luxury car. Many advanced features in this car that don't exist in American vehicles. Some you'll never use of course, you just pay extra for them. One good thing with non American cars is that there's a lesser waste of energy in the drive system & more power go to the wheels. Japanese cars have reliable engines & transmissions. The LS has had several issues & problems. As others have mentioned, it has a major wind noise issue that can't be fixed. I've done the upgrades by the dealer & it's still there! There's a problem with the design of this car. This car also has other noise issues from all over after it passes 50k miles. Lexus told me all the earlier LS models have this issue! An $80-90K car has such a fundamental issue?! The air shocks after a few years go bad & it costs $4k to replace them. The trunk in the L model is extremely small & isn't practical. The front seats aren't that comfortable. The driver legroom is really bad & your knees either hit the steering wheel or the front buttons. Other issues when the car gets a little older: speakers vibrate, cooling system problems, touch screen problems, wheels coating chips. Not acceptable for a car with that price range.

Beware wind and road noise

Don't make the same mistake I did. The LS 460 is noisy. New drivers might not notice it but there should be no wind noise. I am in the process of having the two front side windows replaced. There is a significant problem with wind and road noise with this model. After one window was fixed which did correct the wind noise, of course there is now a noise in the door. Lexus needs to fix the windows. In addition this engine is more noisy than the ones in the past

47,500 Miles Problem Free So Far

I've had my car since Nov 06. The only thing I've had to replace are the tires @ 45k miles and a $7 battery for my key fob. I'm planning to take the car in for the wind noise, rattling and hesitation before my warranty expires. Service on the car is expensive, but that's to be expected. Oil changes are just under $80, 45k service is $240, 50k is $320 and 90k is $1,160 (DC area). If this car last me 20 years it will be well worth the $70+ it cost. My 1996 ES is still running after 216k miles. I love this car so I hope it continues to meet my expectations.
