Nightmare! 1-Star is too much
Quite possibly the worst purchase I’ve ever made! Stay away!! The list of issues is extensive and only got worse after the warranty expired. Two windshield replacement due to water leaks, console cooler stopped working at 50k miles and it was barely used. Oil leaks. Hood cable replaced twice before 60k miles, so many software updates to fix glitches that varied from screens just randomly going black, slow touchscreen response, freezing infotainment…more oil leaks. Sunroof motor replaced before 60kmiles, DEF errors galore!! This HSE Lux TD6 just eats through tires. But maybe Continental tires just suck. Seat belt assembly issues. More oil leaks. Its just an awful car! There’s a reason LR has two protective plates underneath. They don’t want you to see all the plastic connected to metal components. First and Last LR! Way too many issues for a 5yr old car.

Better than expected mileage
First trip to the Asheville from Charlotte and the round trip mpg was exactly 30 mpg! Very comfortable
THE PERFECT SUV WITH THE WRONG MEDIA SYSTEM
I leased the Discovery right when it came out, in 2017. The SE model came with a 6cylinder that I loved. The engine had great acceleration and power. The ride was soft and sturdy at the same time. What I loved most about the ride is that it wasn't too springy like a Buick or Tahoe. The chassis absorbs a ton of road vibration, and bumps but maintain a rigidity that makes it feel controlled. I almost bought the car at the end of the lease but instead bought a new Defender. I had zero issues with the car with the exception of the infotainment unit that would turn off every now and then (once a month). The blip would last maybe a few seconds and then it would just reboot itself. Not a game changer. I drove the car hard and often and had zero complaints or mechanical issues. The engine was very reliable and efficient for a car of this size. I would definitely recommend it. Love the Discovery but now I am a Defender owner!!!
