Used 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Consumer Reviews
Run away
-Gas pedal hesitates -Start/stop button must be hit over and over -Cruise control looses control downhill almost always -Can’t lock until gate is closed- it beeps like a bi@$h to tell you Basically a program that’s a complete failure. It’s a 2 because it’s a nice body style and decent engine. By 9,000 miles I started needing repairs. What a joke
Very disappointing!
I love the look of this car and that’s what really sold me. I should’ve test driven it longer and in different conditions because I hate the way it drives. I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned the turbo lag. I wasn’t sure what to call it or exactly how to explain but the car jerks. Start the car, put in reverse and it delays and then jerks. Does the same thing when you are stopped and accelerate. Awful if you are waiting to make a turn at a traffic light! After you pull into your parking space and put the car in park it will then roll forward about 6-12”. Not good. When I brought it in for service they said that I have to “really drive it” (gun it) and it will get used to my driving and change. Nope. Not true. I’ve been driving for 30 years and I feel like a teenager driving this car because it is so jerky! It’s fine once you are accelerated and on a highway but I hate it for driving on town and actually getting on the highway. Can’t wait for my lease to be over. Going back to Lexus.

Great body style brion blue with black package. Cream interior , beautiful car. Looks are great. Technology could be more intuitive. Mpg on highway best has been about 23.5. Been in shop for battery and ac evaporator along with couple other minor issues. Others complained about the shifting. Mine use to jerk and shift slow, complained found out there is an update to the computer module you have to demand LR to do.. this makes shift much better. Diving much more fun and reliable. Love that we can fit 7 in the car with the 3rd row. Make sure you maintain the oil not recomended by LR at every 15k but sooner change around every 6k due to turbo reliability. Previous LR same methodology on oil changes sold at 187k with no engine or compression problems. Maintain you car it's important.

Excellent
Unstoppable in the snow due to the adjustable traction settings and high clearance. Surprisingly great cargo space considering it’s a smaller suv. Comfortable and fun to drive.

Two is better than One
The first sport we purchased had such a sound ride and all the options that we would ever use while driving that we invested in a second one. They both have been built with engineering integrity for a solid ride and they drive amazingly compared to other SUV's we have owned in the past. The fuel economy is sufficient for our purposes while we have noticed no difference from comparable SUV's that we have previously owned. The four wheel drive and 9 speed transmission provides for stable acceleration and shifting in all weather conditions.
