2025 Hyundai Sonata Consumer Reviews

Good to Go / So Far So Good
Purchased the 24 Sonata Hybrid Limited Trim last week. Bought the Car in Killeen and drove it home about 200 miles on the back roads of Texas. (Farm to Market (FM) Rodes). The FM roads are not great, but I enjoyed the drive back home. The seats felt very comfortable. I have never owned a sedan, always SUV or Trucks, and I have bought a bunch of new cars in my day. With the exception of bumping my head getting out a couple times, that is just a learning event on how to exit the vehicle. I bought a used Venue a couple Christmas ago. That car performs so well, I was looking hard at this brand. We love everything about our Limited Trim, Transmission Blue (Pearl) exterior Paint with Light Gray Interior Sonata Hybrid! Who can beat Hyundai Warranty? Nobody.
Holy cow - what a surprise!
My first hybrid sedan after being spoiled with a full size luxury ICE sedan. I drove and considered the top 4 ranked hybrids and chose the Sonata Limited for value, tech features, comfort and mileage. BEST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. I am shocked at how good Hyundai has done with their cars - and my dealer experience has been more impressive than Lexus in the 90’s. If you are looking for a hybrid sedan - drive this car.

MIGHT FLY ON HIGHWAY
The tech features for the price are impressive, but the ride quality and use of lower-grade plastic are noticeable. It tends to drift at speeds above 65 mph, and it's not suitable for challenging weather due to its lightweight build. Driving in rainy or stormy conditions is risky, and the engine power is lacking. I'm disappointed with this Sonata model, especially considering how exceptional the previous generation was.

Gotcha!! Is what they did to me
I have had several leases with hyundai in the last 5 years and need to start learning how to say NO when I return a vehicle. The steering wheel is absolutely brutal on this sedan. My hands ache and are exhausted after 3 miles of driving. I can’t wait to get out of the vehicle. The gear placement in this 2024 Sonata may be the dumbest piece of engineering I have seen. You need to turn the steering wheel and look for the gears. Hyundai sells this for $29k?? I expected more from this company. The car is extremely over-priced and everything about looks and is cheap. The key fob may be sold at the dollar store if you happen to lose the one you have. I am pretty much done with Hyundai. Will be shifting all my business over to Mazda. You get better vehicles for less cost.

Not the 2021 Sonata
I traded in a 2021 Sonata Limited. It had features that are no longer available with the 2024 Sonata Hybrid. There is no spare tire. They expect you to repair the tire leak with a kit they provide...pathetic! There is no rear view mirror that has buttons on it that opens the garage door...pathetic. The Navigation system does not even come close to the one that was on the 2021 Sonata. They have deleted many of the good options so they could keep the price reasonable...they are not reasonable...my next car will be a Toyota Crown...period!
