Engine Issues
I loved my car before their "recall". No parts available for 3 months. Car has serious engine problems since 2011. Check recalls before you purchase. Car is 1.5 yrs old, 10,500 miles and in the shop for the last 3 months. Warranty is great until you want them to honor it. Been driving stripped down loaner or sub-compact rentals for 2 months waiting on the repair and not sure I'll feel safe once I get it back. Over 600,000 Sonata's in recalls. Not sure why they're still selling it and rating it so high.

Rear view mirror troubles
Test drove the 2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.4L engine. I'm 6'1" Tall. After adjusting the seats, I tried to adjust the mirror and the rear view mirror would not move enough. The whole time of the tests drive I was bent up and hurt afterwards because the rear view mirror cannot be moved. Also the interior is so much plastic and in time will peel. If you are a tall person forget this car, if you want quality as well it's over priced for not much quality. I did like the cooled seats they worked great, but overall the vehicle is "NO".

New Sonata MAJOR Engine Problems!
Car has 1,700 miles. Knocking noise in engine. Hyundai installing sensors. Once sensor installed car went into safe mode. Read up on this. Do not purchase one of these cars. This problem has caused many engine fires.

Not worth the money!
I'm greatly disappointed by this car and the dealership. After 2 months of driving I started to feel very noticable vibration under the driver seat. The vibration gets a lot worse if AC is on. The AC keeps changing airspeed on it's own as I'm driving with steady speed. The volume up botton on the steering wheel stopped working after only 5 months. Took it to the dealership and they said nothing is wrong with the car and everything is up to company standard. That may be true and I gotta say the company has very low standards. They also said they will replace my volume up botton but because the car is new they dont have the parts and they need to place a national call on the part and they said they will contact me as soon as they get the part. That was 3 months ago and nothing has been fixed. The dealership also gave me an offer for an oil change package. After I purchased the package, I found out the offer was only valid at that dealership and not honored by other dealerships. Keep in mind I live in rural area and this dealership is an hour and half away from me, so I gotta keep going back to them for 3 years and theres no refund on the oil change package! The suspension system also sucks, you will feel even the smallest bombs on the road in your back. Very rough and stiff ride. Sometimes when I start the engine theres a loud clunk noise, but that doesn't happy often, so I haven't been able to prove it to the dealership. I will be writing this review on as many sites as I can, because I'm very unhappy with my car and the dealership could care less. Btw this is the victorville Hyundai in Victorville California. I have recorded conversations between me and the help desk technician and you would be surprised how rudely they treat their customers.
