Great interior, quiet ride, and EV only mode!

After 8 months driving the limited trim Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid, it's still as great as the first day out of dealer lot. I mostly drive in city within the 30 mile range on EV only mode. EV only can use more pep but not complaining when gas is over $6/gal. No range anxiety when on a road trip but mpg suffers when electric is depleted. Love the quiet ride, seats comfortable with memory of seat and mirrors for second driver. Cooling ventilated driver and passenger seats (yes 3 levels of cold air through your seat) on 100 degree days and sunshades for rear passengers. Heated steering wheel and heated seats front and rear during winter. Driver-only A/C mode to save energy. Automatic almost everything..parking brakes when on incline, wipers, lights, wireless phone charger. Engine transition from electric to gas smoothly without the loud engine sound and car shudders. Spacious trunk for Costco and Home Depot runs. Navigation update was easy to install using USB. Easy latch for carseat. Amazing panoramic moon roof. The driver assistance system already helped prevent a near accident when I didn't see a car coming on the side and started to pull off from curbside when the car stopped itself! Adaptive cruise control worked well on highway. Love the 360 camera view when trying to parallel or back up the car. Harmon Kardon sound system is good. There's a regular 110v in the rear which allows work on laptop during long road trips. All the bells and whistles of a luxury car without the price tag plus unbeatable warranty and free maintenance. My last car was Acura and don't feel like I downgraded at all. Highly satisfied with this first Hyundai!!!

Best car ever owned by a 71 year old

Have 8500 miles and averaging 72 mpg overall. Travelled on trips 300 miles 4 times and several 100 mile trips. On electric only have averaged 33-34 miles with a range of 31 to 37. On hybrid only average about 33-34 mpg. Love the interior with beige leather. Plenty of passenger room and cargo space. Like the buttons on the dash as opposed to searching for features on the display. Very quiet and comfortable. Has all of the latest features. Safety features are wonderful. Last week, I felt confident driving in AWD (SNOW mode) on icy roads, while vehicles around me were sliding off the road and spinning wheels. I have found many free charging stations wherever I travel including British Colombia a couple of months ago, so I have saved about $825. since last February over the Subaru Outback it replaced. Most importantly of all I have reduced about 1000 pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere using 200 gallons less compared to my previous car.

A Brilliant SUV

For Limited Model- great ride, excellent interior features. Brilliant EV mode. For the first 30 miles, it feels just like a Tesla. After 30 miles you have a peppy turbo charged engine running on gas. If you drive less than 30 miles you never come out of EV mode. Ride is superior to Model Y from Tesla. Smoother.

0 star for this PHEV! This car is NOT safe to drive at all! Since I bought it in April, this vehicle had 2 MAJOR electrical system failures that stranded my family on the road. It spent 1/3 of the time in the shop and we're still waiting for the backordered part! After the car STOPPED in the middle of driving on city street(glad I pulled over right the way), a new battery with the electronics was replaced and was told I shouldn't have any problem going forward. Now comes the 2nd MAJOR failure when we had a family weekend trip 450 miles away from home: we stopped to switch hands and the car AUTO SWITCHED to Neutral and COULDN'T shift gears nor able to start/stop! Long story short, the car was towed to the nearest dealership(after we got stranded and worried for our life throughout the whole night inside the car) in the morning and still waiting there for over 3 weeks for a backordered part! I'm dealing with a lemon and working with Hyundai's case manager to address this BS. This is NOT a matured or safe designed car nor anything you want to buy unless you want to risk your family's life and anyone around while this vehicle is on the road. Stay away for this vehicle, speaking from personal experience! Super frustrated and still dealing with Hyundai on buyback and reimbursement for the associated costs for this disastrous incident.

Take too long to charge

Before my purchased, I did not know it would take 11 hours to fully charge a 31 miles range. I upgraded to 240v, but still take 3.5 hours. At this rate, it is impossible to charge at public station or cost more to charge because the car won't charge above 16Amp. We often travel over 60 miles per day. Regret buying it.
