Good little car

I got my Accent in May 2006 as a replacement car after I wrecked my cheap (price-wise) Aveo and got about $4,000 insurance from it. I did not expect the interior quality and engine reliability to be so good for a cheap, 5 year old car with 85,000 miles on it. With the 5-speed manual, it is a fun, peppy little car to drive and it delivers exceptional gas mileage. I average from 34-38 mpg combined city and highway driving. I never have any problems with the car. The only thing I notice is the brakes are kind of lou and I've even had them looked at, but it doesn't really bother me that much because they still stop the car well. I would recommend it over any 2001 Cavalier or the equivalent

I've had this car for almost 7 years and its been very reliable. The only repairs : the power steering pump had to be replaced and the exhaust pipe was replaced. I think the power steering pump went because I turned the wheel a lot after the car was turned off ( turned to put the crook lock on ) . Other then these repairs and normal maintenance, I've had no trouble with this car. Starts up everyday and runs great. And its still under warranty 7 years after I bought the car in 2001 . You can't beat Hyundai's warranty ! If you buy an old car , check to make sure the timing belt is good. If the timing belt breaks it'll ruin your engine and cost you at least $1500 to repair.

The Best Car Ever

I came from a Mercedes to a Hyundai. My car had 6 miles when I purchased it. It now has 228,000+ and I have EVERY original engine part. Only changed the timing belt and brakes and did my oil change every 3000 miles. My car has NEVER broken down on me or ran out of gas. She has been 100% reliable to me! My tranny just went and YES....I am putting a new one in. I know the car and trust it. It's worth it to me. So if anyone is thinking about getting one....just make sure you change your oil ON time EVERY time its suppose to get changed. I love my Hyundai Accent and when I decide to get another it will be the Hyundai Azera.

Good handling, not alot of road noise like in alot of small 4 cylinders. Drove by 6foot 250lb husband for 4 years in confort. Passed to son in 2005. Very few repairs only regular maint. Safety, safety, safety. Was back into by a cement truck once with very little damage. Also, total when my 18 year old son T-boned a ford explorer driven by a 15yr old who ran a stop sign. There were 3 people in the accent, all with only minor scrathes or bumps. My son had back injuries, but nothing the accent could have prevented. The car with stood the impact unbelievablily. The dash, stirring column, glove box, nothing came in on them. This was a 45 mph impact and the car proved capible to with stand.

I have run my fully loaded GS for over two years as a spare car and it is worth every penny. That is all you spend on this car is penny's. Even with the bigger engine the oil capacity is just 3.5 qts. Oil changes are cheap! It is actually fun to drive and decently engineered. I'm 6'2" and it fits me ok. The body rolls a little more than I like but the ride is good for a small car and you can hustle it around and it responds. A really good value.

The Accent is a tough little car; it handles me, which is a feat. You get little by way of comfort but if you want a cheap car that'll get you there, then it's hard to beat. I've used the warranty already. Twice for wheel bearings that became loud, an exhaust leak, and a leaky valve cover. With all that in mind, it kept running and never gave me that "it's gonna die" feeling. I wouldn't buy this car new, I would find one as cheap as possible and go with it. Be careful of the dealer, they are very good at slipping in costs that you might not be aware of, slick little suckers they are. I'm off moving from 0-60 in 15.2 seconds.

Great on Gas

I didn't know about the belts needing to be replaced after 60,000 miles and I drove it to 85,000 before finding out the hard way. I had to put a new head gasket on, because it bent a couple of pistons. But what could've been a $200 job, turned into $2,000 (my fault). But other than that, I have put over 100,000 miles on it (while only changing the oil every 3,000) and NOTHING has gone wrong with the engine or trans.! I especially love that it does great on gas.

Excellent car, good gas mileage, did regular oil changes but did not have to do much else maintence wise. Very reliable, only reason to trade it in was my kids turned into teenagers with long legs needed bigger car with more room, but now that I am a mom and my kids are moved out of the home gone off to college I am now in 2008 going back to the accent 4 door the 2008 model. Good safe car.

I've put over 110,000 miles on this Accent and it has been the best car I've ever owned. Would like to have about 10hp more, but for $9500, it's really been fantastic. Gets 40mpg on the highway. Reliability is great; had a lifter making a little noise at 98,000 miles and Hyundai honored their warranty with no problem.

This hyundai accent i got for $5400 cash with 30k miles. My dad got this for me as a gift, so I can get to and from northern illinois to indianapolis. 4 hour trips, the trip alone there and back is 550 miles. I can do the trip for just 40 bucks. (50 if you include chicagos ridiculous toll rates) great car, just dont hit the gas at 60 otherwise you will hear and feel the transmission.(not suggested. Keep the plugs and wires fresh, oil changes, and get fresh tires every 25k and the car rides smooothly. I've kept up with high speed traffic on I-65 going just over 100mph. I am 5'9 200 lbs and the car is fairly comfortable with the armrest. Get a 25 dollar cd player for your tape deck. KEEPER!!!
