Best decision I ever made
Best decision I ever made - My husband races off road KTM Motorcycles and after I introduced him to this baby - lets just say, its hard to keep him out of the drivers seat.
2 words: fun and quality. Love it!
Overall feeling of solidity. Amazing seats. Great trunk space (golf clubs or weekly groceries for 3-4 people). Convertible top fast (unlike 350Z) and both latches can be locked/unlocked with one hand. Front end won't scrape (driveways) if careful-nice surprise considering how low car is. Can buy near/ under $30K if you play email game with dealerships. Lively & exciting ride at highway speeds. Excellent seat/pedal/shifter/gauge relationship (I'm 6'2", fit perfectly & can see 100% of gauge cluster-amazing job Honda!). Xenon headlights great at night. Beautiful high-quality interior. Very nice ignition key. High-strung & more race car-like compared to relaxed/pampering Boxster.

Mid-life crisis cure!
More than 30 years after my first roadster I bought an S2000. It was worth the wait! Friends have suggested calling it the Honda MLC (for Mid-Life Crisis!) The handling is superb! The engine revs to 8200 so quickly that it scares you the first time you floor it. Everything you read about its performance is true. I feel I'm driving a formula 1 race car. The seats are extremely supportive and comfortable. My wife and I are looking forward to our first long road trip. A sports car is meant to be fun to drive and the S2000 succeeds beautifully in accomplishing this mission ! I live in Wisconsin and will drive it daily - except in snow! This car will make your driving dreams come true!
Most Fun I've Ever Had Driving
Been driving for 52 years and never had so much fun in my life! I LOVE this car. Don't see many of them on the road and that's kinda fun to have sort of an exclusive. The handling is unbelievable, except on wet or even cold (Wisconsin) roads unless you back off on the aggessiveness. Had to buy a winter car. :-( A few interior amenities would be nice: outside air temp; lighted visor mirror; cup holder, maybe? Boot looks great on, but a real hassle to install; never use it. That's something that could really use improvement. Top operation is a breeze (no pun intended) and great fun to drive around with it down. I get lots of great comments. This car is super therapy for one's psyche.
A car enthusiast's car!
I traded in my 2002 BMW 330I with only 6K miles 4 this car. I was really nervous at 1st because I loved the BMW but I am so glad I did. This car is so much fun to drive and it is so cool looking (I am 50 years old). You will not believe how many people stop to look at the car. Most do not even know what it is because there r so few of them. I had a man pull up next to me that said he was a Jag/Porch/MB saleman and wanted to know if it was an Italian sports car. I have joined S2K clubs and autocross events and am having a blast with this car. U will learn what v-tec is all about. I must warn u that it is easy to add aftermarket parts to customize this car and it gets addictive. Love it!!!
Simply Outstanding
I have owned many automobiles in my life time, but none like my S2000. The novelty still has not worn off. Everytime I get behind the wheel I feel like it's the first time I'm driving it. The comfort is great and the response to acceleration is dramatic. My gas mileage is 25MPG, which is incredible for a vehicle like this. This is truley a "keeper", and if your in the market for an outstanding roadster you will not be dissapointed. I can't see spending the money for a Porsche, when you can get the same or better thrill with the S2000. Keep it up Honda, you'll always be a winner in my book, as you have for the last 12 years of owning your products!
Just plain fun to drive
The only down side so far has been that I can only share the driving experience with only one person at a time.
S2000 owners must smile a lot...
What an incredible car. So much fun to drive and so easy on the eyes. This car puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. I have had no reliability issues with it. Fit and finish is top notch. Love every moment. The HID Headlights on this car are brighter and sharper than those coming on vehicles twice its price.
a little engine that can produce 240hp
a fun a to drive for a sub-33 grands, no other roadster in this class can beat the s2000 for value, reliability, performance and styling. Interior is a little cramping for a full grown adult, but if one can get acustom to it will find the car is rewarding to drive around tight corners and on open roads. The engine is noisy but not punishing, it sounds like a formula 1 sport car with full potential to beat most 4 and 6 non-turbo cylinders cars. The 6 speed manual trans. is flawless, it is very rare on a sub 33 grands. Inaddition, it handle the road very well with top up or down. Very well balance car. It can be a huge improvement with a little more investment on aftermarket tuning accessories.
Love my S2000
I've had my S2000 for almost a year now and love almost everything about the car. I'm a huge fan of Honda and this car is a total thrill! The design is great and performance is even better. Everytime I get in my car, I'm excited to drive! I was initially concerned about the hassle of a 6-speed, but the shifting is virtually effortless. To top it off, I can actually fit my golf clubs in the trunk!
One year and still lovin it!
I've had my car for one year now and I still enjoy each time I get behind the wheel. I've installed the 8 CD changer as well as the headrest speakers which really make a difference when the top is down. You could hear music before, but you can really hear it well now. I was also pleased about the mileage (I've gotten 23-25 mpg), not near as good as my Toyota Camry, but much more fun to drive. I find the leg room on this car much better too. I "tried on" many sports cars as I have long legs, and this one "fit". I also liked the glass back window in the top. It's much easier to see out of than the Nissan Z6 (which I found to be roomy inside, but visibility was terrible out the back window).
A treat!
I purchased this car after a drunk driver demolished my sensible four door sedan and it was a treat. The car handles beautifully and heads always turn when I drive it through DC with the top down. It is fun to drive, and leaving work with the top down always puts me in a great mood by the time I get home. The only improvement would be the interior - it isn't set up very well and sometimes you can feel cramped.
Better than a Miata
Owned two Miatas before the S2000. Great leg room, better performance, better detail, fit & finish.
Great Car
I have had the S2000 for more than 2 years. Works great, fun to drive especially with the convertible top down. My wish list is that the door would open wider and an outside temperature gauge (I've heard the newer model does have the temperature guage). A bit tight but all and all I would buy another.
Best sports car yet
After 2 years of ownership of the Honda S2000, I can say from experience that this car gives great satisfaction to the driver. It is sleek, responsive, and there are national and international clubs for S-2000 owners to join and go on road trips with. I couldn't be happier. Of my 5 sports cars owned, this one is tops. 30 mpg on the freeway, 25 mpg in the city.
4 wheel motor cycle
Have owned S2000 since 2006. Quick and dangerous (if your not paying attention). After 6500 rpm this car really is fun. My favorite is driving in 3rd gear between 6500 & 7000 rpm in traffic. It screams loud enough that drivers beside me think the pistons are about to swap holes in the engine :) Hard to imagine a replacement after 10 yrs. car is in pristine condition. Thinking of Lexus RC 150, but the Honda is still a lot of fun. For gas consumption, it uses all in the tank, as who cares what the mileage is! It was sold to a person who drove from Tenn to atlanta for pickup. My replacement car was porsche 911S. Cheers -ga

Good driver's car... showing its age
Great car for the money. Its design is starting to age among all the other great sporty coupes/sedans/convts out now. And, what's with the 2nd/3rd gear crunch all the time? Hope they can fix that for their next F/R setup cars.
05 S2000
I've wanted this car since I sat in it in August of 1999 while taking delivery of my new prelude. It was well worth the wait. This car is everything you could want in a sports car and more. My face hurts from smiling too much every time I drive it.
Very nice!
I am a diehard Honda lover. I seen that we took in a 05 Honda s2000 with only 2k on it with the factory hard top and I had to have it. It is a well built and well rounded car. Very fun to drive and handles great. I bought a turbo kit for mine a it really awakened the beast. Wow is all I have to say. Almost 500 hp. I would recommend this car to anyone that doesn't need the room and that is not over 6 ft. Tall.
Wow!
I just bought my S2K used with 50,000 miles on it. I have owned a lot of cars in my time, I change out about every 2 years, but this one takes the cake. The interior shows little wear, the trans and clutch are great, no leaks etc. I had a 06 GTI and a 06 MX-5 Miata before I bought the S2K. This car is in a whole other league from those. You simply think turn and it does it. The communication between the road the car and you is incredible. I looked at Boxster's as well, but the interior wear and the expense of upkeep is ridiculous on those. How can you not love the 6,000 rpm wail of this engine. I thought i would be hard to get used to but, once you get the hang of it.
Wind thru what little hair left.
Second car, only for those top down days. Better low end torque than 03's and earlier. One of few convertibles that will fit a 6'3" guy. I compared both of the BMWs against the Honda and just handed back their keys. I average about 24 mpg even with pushing it hard sometimes.
Honda S (for Super) 2000
You just cannot get more performance without paying 10K more! It's too bad that Honda decided to stop manufacturing the S2000. The V-Tec engine is nearly bullet proof and the transmission feels like something that came off of the racetrack! Roadhandling is absolutely exceptional!

Fun to drive pocket rocket
I enjoy my S2000 to the limit. The seats are as comfortable as any seat could ever be. The power isn't bad at lower RPMs but the car is awesome when revved to 6800 RPMs. Brakes are very good, the car handles like nothing I've ever driven before. The Prelude was a fun car to drive, but a Prelude could never satisfy anyone that has driven an S2K! The S2K's mileage is extremely good considering how much power it has and how I end up high revving it fairly often. It has all the power you need to come up any hill in any gear you choose without losing speed.
