Used 2019 Honda Insight Consumer Reviews
Insight on the Insight
We've had our Insight EX for 9 months now. Two retirees who commuted to work by bicycle for many years and now have this as our primary car. I just watched a Car Gurus review where the guy got 38 mpg in an Insight. No idea how he could do that badly unless he must have driven in the mountains with the air conditioner on in Sport mode. We have never recorded lower than 45 mpg in the winter with the heat on, winter blend gas, cold, etc. In the summer, we have always been over 50 mpg in mixed driving without using the Econ mode or brake degeneration paddles, simply driving in normal mode. I think our high has been a 57 mpg tank. Overall, a great car with terrific styling. Passenger's seat is too low, the Honda blind spot monitoring system is bogus and only the passenger side of the car compared to many others who have a true warning light when someone is in your blind spot on either side. Overall though, we really like it and will keep it for the duration if it stays reliable. 9/26/19 Not much new to report, average mixed driving in summer 57 mpg.

Another great hybrid
After driving a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid for 5 years, we switched to the 2019 Honda Insight as Ford announced the discontinuing Fusion line. The Insight touring model is extremely comfortable to drive and we enjoy all of the new safety features on this car. Fuel economy is better than the Fusion. When driving around town and short highway trips, we average around the 50 MPG, while on trips, we have been averaging around 48 MPG at highway speeds. The Insight has a totally different drive system than CVT system found on other Hybrids. This is an electric motor drive plus a clutch system. It technicality impossible for me to explain, go the Honda site for full description.

Gas Milage is better than Honda calls for
Fuel economy in hybrids is all about how you drive. That being said I drive 30miles through the city one way to work. Roads 35mph-55mph traffic typically medium no extended waiting at lights because there was too many people and not enough time but also not zipping off the minute it turns green. Today I reset my trip before leaving home. Got 61.2 mpg by the time I got home. Coming from a 17/20 mpg older Nissan Murano that took premium gas BOY this is bliss! (Just bought the car not too long ago will keep posting reviews. HK)

Loving the Honda Insight
We’ve owned our 2019 Insight for 15 months. It’s a wonderful car. I love the safety features and cabin comfort. Gas mileage is excellent. Go for it!
