Pickup is not as agressive as my former Taurus SHO, but adequate in our hilly terain with 4 passengers. More nimble and handles well. I'm 6'4" and have head room. I measured driver side dimensions and it's as roomy as our Lumina Van; adequate trunk space for most purposes. Very tolerable on cross country trips, even in the back. Quiet interior, nice stereo.

Bad Driver Seat Ergonomics

I love the fit, but I can't keep it. The gas pedal is 5" off the floor and this keeps my foot almost perpendicular no matter what position I put the seat in, at the end of 30 mins I have leg cramps and heel pain. My husband is 6' and there is not enough leg room for him as the center console is too close to the gas pedal to be comfortable. The amount of time a dealer offers to test drive, it would be almost impossible to discover the bad gas pedal placement, this has developed over months of commuting. I spoke to Honda and this has not been changed in any current models, so I have to trade for something other then a Fit and maybe something other then a Honda. Too bad.

FIT YOU??

I bought my fit because I was working in AZ and living in CA. With the current cost of gas I needed something with good gas mileage. I can travel from Redlands CA to Lake havasu AZ and only use 5gallons of gas doing 70mph the whole way!!! The car handdles really good up in the mountains, and on the freeways. I feel that it is a little under-powered going up and down the hill but then again its only a 4cyl. Im glad that I bought my FIT I wont sale it for anything. Its priced well and will save you a lot of money at the pump for sure.

I am loving this vehicle!! Iv'e had it for about 3 weeks, and I have already put 1500 miles on it. I have taken it on many out of town expeditions, and have thouroughly enjoyed it. I have fit a total of 7 people in it so far!! It has plenty of room, you would be surprised how much head room this thing has!! I recommend buying one right away!

I have just gotten past the break in period and love the car even more than I anticipated. It really does feel like a '93 CRX. The interior is beautiful and, except for a temperature gauge, seems well equipped for a basic level vehicle. I haven't taken any advantage of the seat configurations yet,the dog is always in the back seat, but the seats are comfortable and well made. I also tested a Yaris. I must admit that the Yaris has a sharper exterior design but the FIT is far nicer on the inside and much more fun to drive. My first calculated fuel tank got me 35 miles/US gallon.
