Used 2015 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
Don't buy this car
My update is it still vibrates at highway speeds and at idle. All other ratings basically remain the same

Transmission wheezing
My transmission emits a high pitched wheezing while in motion. Two different Honda service managers from different dealers tell me this: These new transmissions are designed with "gears that float"???? This seems to cause internal pressure not found during design testing. The wheezing sound is the pressurized air escaping from a tiny hole in the trans gasket. Honda knows this and as everyone has heard they do NOT care. Perhaps the reason I do not experience any shaking is due to the pressure being released and not pent-up. In any case, please know I will be hiring an attorney skilled in class action suits and will urge you to join in!!!!! Stay tuned

Jack of all trades, master of none!
If you want an exciting and sporty ride, the CRV is probably not for you. It does everything well- accelerates and shifts smoothly, brakes well, and the right view camera will be sorely missed when I turn this car in. While testing other cars to replace my leased CRV Touring, I realize I am totally spoiled by the generous visors, simple controls, and other bells and whistles the car provides. What I won't miss: sloppy cornering (things will get "rearranged" during turns..), and a rather useless Nav. I ended up using my phone because it was such a hassle to try to get the Nav to manage the simplest of directions. The Entertainment system needs work as well-- when your USB cord touches the screen, it will change stations/functions, etc. Still, the CRV nicely appointed does not have the substance that most luxury cars have, but also costs about as much as some- in the high 30's. The seats are a rather cheap "leather"?, and after paying $750 for the dealer offered "stain treatment", the drivers seat quickly absorbed sweat/ suntan lotion and became discolored. All around great car but not a sporty ride, and the Nav and audio setup needs work.

Our third CRV: Charming!
This CRV is our third (previously owned 2000 and 2006) and the third time may well be the charm.... The first two were very good cars, but had a few deficits- Noise, power, and some ride harshness. The 2015 model seems to have addressed each weakness in older models with some very good improvements. We especially like the quieter and well controlled ride, and the extraordinary fuel economy. All in all, it looks like we are on the way to another long term ownership! Update: After almost three years of ownership, we’re still very pleased. Now at 117,000 miles, it has required only normal maintenance.

Software update was betrayal of customers
I bought this SUV (2015) new especially for the MPG--it was rated at 26-33. The 2016 were 25-31. So I went with the 2015 model because I travel a lot. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this vehicle--MPG were more than rated--handled great, Interior was perfect for me. What happened???? A software update ruined everything and I hate Honda now. I did the update as recommended and picked my vehicle up. As I was leaving the dealership, I thought the break was on--No--so I checked the gear. It was noticeably dragging. I immediately saw that my MPG went down by 5 per gallon. FIVE! I took it back to the dealer and the techs told me (alternately) there was nothing wrong with the car or software, it was: 1. uneven tread on my tires, 2. out of alignment 3. my imagination 4. the fact I carried dogs (a 4-pound Pom and 8-pound Russell), 5. that I had books in back, 6. I had to watch my RPMs, or 7. I pulled a small 300 lb trailer. Finally one of the repair guys admitted it was the software update. He found out (Honda didn't have the integrity to let their dealerships know the problem) from his tech friend in California. In Cal they have to file a new registration for mileage if anything changes and this software update does lower the MPG--so it is filed in California--DO YOUR RESEARCH--whatever the MPG rating, it goes down by 4 or 5--they are no longer valid and Honda doesn't have the integrity to change their ads. I am surprised that most people are complaining about vibration. I hadn't noticed that. I bought the car for the gas mileage and now they took that away with an update and then lied by omission. I hated listening to the techs tell me it was me...I haven't talked to the dealership about it yet but I will and I am very frustrated. On the Canadian CRV forum, they talked about the update a lot and most owners saw the reduction in gas mileage just like me. (NOTE:) A year later and I am so pissed at Honda for doing this--selling it under one mileage rating and then updating software and losing the mileage advantage. It says a lot about the integrity of Honda--about nil. (NOTE 2) 3 year update: the software may be wearing out a touch--I gain a couple MPG back. took 2 years! I love the way the car drives--still very upset with Honda for continued deception. As a result, I probably will not buy another Honda--maybe Hyundai or Ford. UPDATE 4.22.22: The car is running well. I think the software is wearing off and I have regained a few miles per gal. I won't get rid of the car until I have to as I'm getting about 31 now. that's acceptable --but for years after the software update that we not the case. I still don't want another one from Honda because of the colossal lie.
