Honda CR-V
The CR-V is a great vehicle! I've driven about 1000 miles (good mix of highway and city) and the gas mileage is the best part thus far (low/mid 20s for city; upper 20s to low 30s highway). A good portion of my driving has been in snow/ice and the car handles great-I literally had to force the vehicle to lose control. I've seen many complaints about power, but there isn't lack of power (reminder: it's not a dragster!). The CR-V is extremely quiet as both engine and road noise are low. Even a 30+ mph wind didn't add much noise in the cabin. The rear cargo area wasn't as big as I thought, but it works for my needs. Lots of small storage places to put stuff, but some are a bit too small.
Great SUV !
We've had our CRV for 4-1/2 years , only 3 issues with it. (1) the dealership sales people, Flatout told them the 1st thing . She(my wife) is going to write you a check , flatout what is the best price on this car with a check right now, STUPID sales person came back and asked how much we were putting down, told him again your getting a check today , he came back and said for 5 yrs. your payments would be $NXO , I SAID LISTEN ! your getting a check for the car TODAY . this went on 4 more times before the JACKASS Sales Mgr. came out & I had to tell him twice the same thing, but got it bought right. (2) Crappy Noisey Continental tires. and a common SUV hatch noise with the windows open.

At 4 yrs and 36k miles
I've had this car for almost four years now and at only 36k miles, i'm disappointed i've had to replace the stock continental tires so soon. I got a set of bridgestone duelers at costco which set me back over $600. I can't tell if the road noise has significantly gotten better with the new tires. Next, it seems my brakes are about to go...we don't drive with a heavy foot, but maybe it was all the city stop and go traffic. Haven't had any problems other than regular maintenance - rear differential was a must because it was making an odd noise. MPG has been in low 20s in mixed driving.
Still Looks Great
After 12 years and 96K miles, the 2008 Honda CR-V still looks great and performs well. Reinforces my preference for Hondas.

Not the best vehicle purchased!!
After owning toyota's in the past, I must admit this does not compare! Not only was this way overpriced for what it was, but even with attention to detail and meticulously maintaining issues this thing was almost always in the shop! What they will not tell you is, this particular year and make of Honda a lot of consumers complain about the ac compressor going out. For mine it went out without warning, mind you after being thoroughly checked out and never missing a service with honda. If you don't already know, do your research at what an ac compressor costs, it is costly! Another major flaw with this vehicle is, it will need at some point a new rack and pinion again do your research as this is another costly repair! The problem with honda is yes overall safe but repairs are excessively costly and consumers dismiss this quite often. I actually found this vehicle to be more costly than my previous toyota highlander. Just do your research people there are way better options out there.
