Used 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid Consumer Reviews
great SUV
smooth ride very comfortable outstanding radio sound 5 miles more per gallon than non hybrid. I paid full list price for a Honda crv-EX hybrid model. Still only $31,000 including freight. The power, the gas mileage, all the safety features included, the 160 watt stereo blows the roof off. What about the sun roof-standard. Forget trying to get a discount, this car is worth a full $40,000. Did I mention all wheel drive included. It's called a small size suv , but beats all the other small and medium size ones on the road. Go down to your dealer, give Them $31,000 list for a Honda CRV-EX hybrid. Put in the bank the extra monies a Rav 4 or any other Suv you were considering, especially the so called midsize models. You'll be so happy, and loving your decision every day.

Great car, bad hybrid mileage
UPDATE: I don't own this car anymore. I had taken it in to get some routine maintenance this summer (2021), and because of the used car market being the way it was this summer, the dealer wanted to buy it from me. Since I was getting horrible gas mileage (as a hybrid), I said yes. They had an electric used vehicle on their lot with very low miles, so we sealed on that and I took it home. I cannot say I'm sorry to have gotten rid of the CR-V. Like I had mentioned originally, the mileage was not anywhere near the EPA estimate and certainly not any better than a gas CR-V. It was, in my opinion, a waste of money. ***** This is my third CRV after 2014 and 2017 models. I lease because I drive mainly in town, so the predicted mileage was very attractive. But it was also very wrong. I get a full 25% less than the advertised mpg: 30 vs the promised 40. That’s huge! My 2017 gas model got the same mileage as I’m getting now. Really big disappointment. I remember there was a settled class action suit against Honda for the estimated mileage of its first Civic hybrid. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same happened for the CR-V hybrid. I stepped down from a Touring to an EX-L. I miss the automatic wipers and hands-free lift gate, but otherwise this trim is perfectly fine. The suite of adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and other safety features make this car semi-autonomous. That combination saved me from an accident in my last CR-V. The CR-V looks sharp. I think the look will endure for quite some time. I have read in plenty of other reviews about its appearance, with comments that say it’s not as exciting as the RAV4. But in my opinion the RAV4 looks like something your kid would put together with a set of Legos. If you like that, fine. But I’d prefer something that looks more adult. The engine, while not delivering on mileage, puts out plenty of power. It can complain a little when you tromp on the accelerator, but I finally figured out that doing that is not necessary. Power is immediate and ramps up in adequate fashion, and you just have to let it do that. Passing ability was very surprising, as the car spurts forward when passing on the highway. If I had known the mileage would be way off from what is advertised I would have stayed with a gas version. But this is still a very enjoyable and reliable car. UPDATE: Something I should have mentioned in my earlier review is that the infotainment system must be one of the worst that's out there. In my 2017 CR-V the whole unit had to be replaced because it was defective. The one in my current 2020 model is also a mess. It is horribly slow, which can actually be unsafe, since one's eyesight has to be on the touchscreen so long because of the slow reaction time of the touchscreen. It is embarrassingly slow. The entire system freezes at times, making it entirely inoperable. It won't reset itself until the car is turned off and sits for a while, usually several hours. If this car was just a piece of technology I wouldn't even consider purchasing it. It's like comparing digital music to a record player. This car is a record player. My mileage is still atrocious. The onboard computer says I'm averaging 31.2 mpg -- not even close to the estimated mpg. It is not worth the hybrid premium one has to pay. Stick with the gas model.

Steady Honda
I test drove a 2020 Honda CRV Hybrid. The all-wheel drive SUV was responsive with intuitive displays that provided on time feed-back. The performance was good with steady and controlled handling. I feel as the price point is very competitive. I decided that this late in the middle year it would make better sense to wait a few months of a 2021 model. I am seriously considering trading my 2018 CRV FOR A hybrid version. As always Honda meets a of my expectations of quality. The dealer in West Burlington, Iowa was very helpful and accommodating.
Meh, Bleh and Terrible Resale Value.
I have had a CRV Hybrid for 2 months and 5,300 thousand miles, so I can't yet speak to its reliability or TCO. Here is what I think as of now, though: PROS: Comfortable, feels surefooted, roomy inside (with many clever storage compartments), good suite of modern safety features, doesn't look weird CONS: Feels underpowered, the fuel efficiency is not great, the infotainment is difficult to use, there is no spare wheel (had to be deleted to make space for the traction battery), the manufacturer prohibits towing for a reason that is not quite clear to me. My prediction is that the CRV Hybrid will follow the footsteps of the Gen 2 Insight and Clarity EV: after 2-3 years of low sales it will quietly disappear from the US market, and no-one will regret or even notice this. <br> EDITED NOV 30, 2021: I got rid of the CRV after only 8 months and about 20K miles .... lost 9K vs. the purchase price, or 23%. And this is during the times when many cars and truck sell for more than they had been bought for.
