A Little Disappointed

I previously owned a 2004 manual Civic, which was a fantastic car that never had any problems. But I've had number of small problems with my 2007 Civic in just the first 18 months of ownership, and I fear these are signs of larger problems down the road. The A/C broke, driver-side sun visor broke, water-pump had a recall and needed to be replaced, and the car almost didn't start after sitting for just two days recently in 30 degree weather. I plan to trade this car within the next month or so.

10,000 miles on a Hybrid

Just turned 10,000 miles on our 2007 Civic Hybrid. After having for about 8 months now I've grown to appreciate the car and what it offers. First, I find it comfortable and I'm over 6 foot. The AC systems works well. Ride remains good, although there is some road noise. I find the engine peppy for what it is, and that is a gas saver. You want fast acceleration - buy a Corvette. This car will go easily with the pack. Recent 1,200 mile trip averaged 47+ and 48.11 on the way home. And I ran with traffic. Car likes to be on cruise control. About 60MPH is the best speed to max fuel economy. I keep tires pumped to 33PSI and I use 5w20 synthetic oil.

The car is decent, but doee not live up to expectations. I get around 35mpg city and 38-42mpg highway. My brother get 40mpg on average with the non- hybrid version. The hybridness on this case is not on par with Toyota's technology. I find several aspects of the car annoying. The transition from engine off to on causes the car to kick too much. The brakes will often slip when transitioning between friction brakes and electric brakes. On the reliability issue my windshield wipers recently refused to turn off (@ 17000 miles.) To summarize I would get the non- hybrid version.

Yaprak's EX

I bought my Honda 4 weeks ago. It is such a joy to drive it. I like the details featured inside. My daughter is very comfortable at the back seat. She can use the cup holders, and the pockets inside the doors, for keeping her small items in. I don't worry about her safety. We love our car.
