Making The Case for the Canadian Civic
I have taken my 2002 Civic EX on six SFO/PDX trips (750 mi each way). Harsh potholes, sand, scratched the bottom hard, and routine 90-110 mph commute at 5am. Despite warnings about the Canadian-built Civics of 2001 & 2002, I remain impressed with how much abuse my Civic has taken. I drive it like a maniac with NO PROBLEMS whatsoever. Rattles are starting to surface after one year of abuse. Rides quiet like the old Accord. US-built tranny in my 2002 might be a problem in the future but so far so good. 2003 transmission is Japanese- built, car now made in Ohio, a good thing. overall, I suggest skipping Civic- get the Accord.
Excellent vehicle
I could not be happier with my new car. It is such a smooth drive, and it handles really well. I love the displays, and the factory sound system is excellent. Fuel economy is awesome. It's just the greatest car. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reasonably priced, completely reliable, incredibly safe and fun car.
2003 Honda Civic LX
I got this car from a used car dealer about 1 year ago, and have not had any problems whatsoever. I will say that the seats aren't all that comforting for long rides and the default radio system lacks, but aside from this, no complaints. Overall, this car is very reliable.
Best car I ever owned
The quality of this car is unbeliviable. I always thought I'd stick with american made cars but this car unquestionable beats the competition by a long shot.
I love my Si
I bought a brand new Civic Si in july of 2003 and have loved every day I drive it. I look a lot of times to go some where for fun just because I want to drive it. I would say that any one that wants a fun to drive car and one that is riliability is top notch this is the car for you.
I LOVE MY HONDA
I find that my honda civic is very dependable. It rides very smooth. I had a pontiac grandam before and I can tell you that that car was a lemon! I had nothing but problems with it from the start! This honda civic has been a dream to me. When I leave home in the morning to go to work I know I will get there with no problem and that means everything to me to have a car that is so dependable!
The best car yet
This is the best car I have had. It handles as well as any other car in its class, and is fun to drive.
Great Car
As I drove my car out of the dealership, people stared at my car. I drove the car to Arizona for a test drive. It took me a full tank from Riverside, CA to Phoenix, Az. It drives pretty well.
I love this Car
I really love this car! I t is not good on Gas, it is Excellent! Better than non Hybrid Models. Those who saying about Hybrid Models, take it from me who owns one, THOSE ARE NOT TRUE!!! They just can't afford it or they just owned a hybrid lemon
great car
great commuter car. great gas mileage comparing to my ml. good power giving the sides of the engine. 80-85 mph no problem. need better lumber support for long distance driving. dash color don't match overall interior color. auto engine shut off when come to a smooth complete stop. engine will auto restart when the foot is off the brake pedal.
Honda Civic Hybrid
I love this car for it's fuel economy, but my husband finds it impossible to drive as his commute car because he doesn't have enough leg room. Since he drives 45 miles each way, this is very important to him. He's 5'11" and 270 lbs. It's very comfortable for me at 5'4" and 160 lbs. The car has 13k miles on it and we have some rattling starting in the console and there's a very annoying whining from the engine since about 8k miles.
2003
this car is a race car i love it it has a Vtec engine 1.7 L. i just love it
Great Car....
This is a great car... Compared to my 99 Pontiac Sunfire GT, this car is worlds apart. Much smoother engine, transmission, quieter and a build quality that makes anything GM built look like a Yugo. She is a quick car once you know that the power is at a higher rpm... This is a car I would recommend to anyone. A pleasure/fun to drive and a great value.
Love my car!
I bought my first Honda Civic Coupe in June 2002. I loved it so much that I went back and bought two more this summer for my kids. It's a great car!
Best Honda Civic
It has been a pleasure purchasing this car
great car
love this car! would suggest it to anyone..........
My Honda
This car is so fun to drive and is great on gas! I would recommend this car to anyone. I also think it looks pretty good and is easy to keep clean!
Not All Civics are created equal
What a crap vehicle. I wish I would have read the Reviews in Car and Driver or Road and Track before I bought this KIA with a Honda badge. What crap!
Great Car!
The Civic EX is a fun to drive reliable car that I would suggest to people of all economic categories. The fit and finish is excellent, I haven't found one defect. I think that the extra cost of the EX model is worth it because of the power moonroof and 12 more horsepower. Before you buy a used car for a little less, do yourself a favor and test drive a Civic. I think you will be pleasantly surprised and happy in the long run.
civic si
Im very pleased with the honda civic hatchback si the quality of honda vehicles is so much better than anything in their class . I recommend a honda to anyone.
Best car I've had yet
This is the best value on the road today. When I entered the economy car market for my 18 year old daughter, I figured we'd end up with a watered down econo-box. I was AMAZED at the sporty build and performance. Add that to 38 mpg on the highway, and you have a 'must buy' car. Maintenance is cheap and very infrequent. The interior has a sports car feel (somewhat like a junior version of my 2001 Acura 3.2CL Type S) and it's a joy to drive.
A Surpising Hybrid
The car is surprising for a hybrid. It is very resposive with more than adequate acceleration. I have been extremely impressed with how quiet it runs. Even on the highway at 65+ it is possible to have a conversation with out shouting over the engine. It is fun to drive and very comfortable even for my 6' 3" frame. Have had no problems at all with car in 5 months of owenership.
Best Car - Honda Civic LX 2003 - Fun!
Honda Civic LX 2003 is very good car to own. Only one thing I don't like is noise on Highway. Need improvement - reduce out side noise. - add ABS I was Toyota's lover- Since last 15 years. This Year I have tested HONDA - It worthed to by Good quality car.
Rita's Honda
I needed a reliable car for a daily 2 hour/ 100 mile commute. Looked at the Toyota, but liked the looks of the Civic much better. Handles great, good gas mileage, and I feel safe in it. But kept my big SUV (Mountaineer) in case of really bad weather!
Very Good On Balance
Overall value for $15K. Honda image and Honda actual is not exactly the same. The trunk was poorly alligned to the frame... clearly visable. Not subtle. The driver seat wobbles and/or does not feel rock solid. Gas milage should be better. It's good. Not excellent. City/Highway avg is closer to 31 for mine. Car is solid, reliable and refined. Driven 6000 miles in 2 months and no big problems. Overall pleased.
Civic Lover
I've had my 2003 Honda Civic since November 2002. The pick up isn't as fast as I expected from a vtec engine. Its an attractive car and in general is the car is overall a good package. The price is good and the car is very reliable
You can do better for the money
My 1987 Civic was a much better car: better MPG, rode smoother, was much quieter, had better ventilation through the dash and had more comfortable seats. This car is loud on the road (and I've had two sets of tires - my Jeep was quieter!). I can't stand how this thing locks itself even after opening the trunk, and the seats are more sporty than comfy. The stereo is nice. We just bought a 1986 Toyota pickup that rides better and is quieter as well. I'm trading this car in for a Camry or a Mercury Grand Marquis. Never again will I buy a Civic. Sure, it's reliable, but so are most cars these days. My friend's Accord, not much better. Sorry Honda.
Real good "little" car
This car is only two weeks young at the time i'm writting this but the early feeling is this is a pretty solid compact car.It handles reel well and has more pep than i though it would have for a 4 cyl..My only complaints so far are drivers seat headroom the radio and road noise.I'm 6' tall and with the seat adjusted all the way down my hair just touchs the headliner which is a little annoying so i have to recline the seat back a little more than i like. As far as the road noise is concerned a change of tires will probably take care of it. Last but not least the raido. Weak, weak, weak. If you like a sound system with balls this one will need an upgrade.
WONDERFUL!
10's across the board for me.
Honda Civic
A Honda Civic is a good economic car for a student. It has good gas mileage and I have not had any problems with it besides the crappy Firestone tires that came with it.
All doubts vanished
I was skeptical at first about performance and comfort, but after one test drive all of my doubts had been resolved. There is plenty of room for taller drivers (myself 6'3"), and with four adults riding along with the A/C full blast we were still able to comfortably pass other cars on the freeway. I've received many compliments on the blue/silver color of the exterior, along with the styling and brightness of the dash. This is definitely a good car to pick up if you need a high-mileage vehicle that will save you some gas money year after year.
great
great, its an awesome little car! i got a brand new one when i was 15. I am about to turn 16! i love the car!
The One Year Review of the Civic Hybrid
I've owned my hybrid for just over a year now. With the honeymoon phase over, I still enjoy my hybrid. I've not had a single problem with it. I've averaged almost 53 mpg (calc). After 8K, the mpgs jumped some, so hang in there, folks. I have very similar feelings about the car as others, so I'd just like to add that this is an economy car. Don't expect leather, GPS units, entertainment packages, power seats, etc, etc. I do think it has a nice array of features, though, and ones that you'll use the most. Also, remember that Honda doesn't have anything to do with the EPA estimates-- although they do promote them in their ads.
Great small car for the familiy
I have owned this car since Feb 2003. I currently have about 99,300 miles on the car and it is still running strong. Things I like about the car: peppy 4 cylinder with great fuel economy (I am getting about 32 mpg city/35 mpg hwy), plenty of room for a family of 4, low maintenance costs (I change the oil myself every 5,000 miles and take the car in for service every 15,000), and go cart handling. Things that need improvement: Paint scratches easy and seat's a little hard and short on leg support. I have noticed slight hesitation in the transmission, but only on cool mornings and only for the first few minutes (I guess the fluid needs to be warmed up).
Best car in the world!!!
That's right, this is the absolute best bang for the buck in the world! VERY quick, and perfect for traffic driving; almost no blind spots at all. I've only had mine for about 9,000 miles now, but I've enjoyed every mile of it. It also gets GREAT mpg for a "sports" car (38+hwy - 32+city). If you want a car to add performance parts to, this is also your car. I think they sell almost everything you can think of for a Civic. Finding stuff that's in stock on a Civic this new is a little hard though, but I'm not complaining...
Honda's r #1!
Honda Civics are wonderful cars. I mean for a starting out person in their 20's i would reccomend it! The price of the car is resonable........it's a wonderful deal!
Great little car
We missed purchasing the car during the initial shipment in our area, but after contacting over 40 dealers in our state, we lucked out and found a dealer who still had one in their showroom. We drove 400 miles to buy this car, and we couldn't be more pleased. It didn't even take a whole tank of gas to drive it home! The ride is smooth, the seats are comfortable, the vehicle is attractive both inside and out, and I take delightful glee in seeing the "average mpg" display gauge, which at this time is showing 46.7mpg (we drive on hills). We're just tickled!
making a statement
What a great way to make an eco statement...without looking silly (have you seen that other hybrid on the streets?). This car is great!
be civiclized....
baving driven trucks and suv all my life, i thought i would never buy a civic. but you can't beat the value and high gas mileage will put more money back into your pocket. car is all around a good car. much fun to drive. the car is not as ugly inside as outside. 127 horse power is quite adequate for this light car.
Great Car!
Could not ask for more. Gets great gas mileage, very smooth, great price, no problems.
Hybrid Owner
I have about 2000 miles currently with lifetime MPG of approximately 42 Great car, luxury line for Honda Civic, just take a look at the EX and compare. Cost is an issue, but remember that there is currently a $2000 Federal tax rebate and the improved savings on fuel. Also, the state of Maryland does not charge sales tax on low emmisions/alternate fuel vehicles, so I saved about $1000 there as well. I recommend this vehicle to anyone, young or old, as an intelligent and responsible choice - just keep in mind it's not a sports car.
Saving the planet with action, not words
When the Stang got wrecked, I decided to get a hybrid because it's the responsible thing to do. Of the hybrids available, The styling on the Civic was best--it looked "normal". I can't be happier. Car had 1 mile on it & now has 1050 miles. I drive in suburban areas in Orlando and am achieving about 43- 47mph. Didn't get this the first couple of hundred miles (probably all the demo rides I gave friends), but do now, & lately it's been even better. This is a comfortable car and very fun to drive. The dynamic gauges make me very attune to "bad" driving habits. This is a great hybrid example for other car companies to follow. HELLO FORD? HELLO GM?
civic
great car for the money, dependable, great gas mileage...wonderful
Another Honda.. Another Satisfied Custom
12k miles and I'm still loving it. Drives great. Gets great mileage
Snow and Cold no problem
Fantastic fuel economy even with winter treads and subzero temperatures (44-48 mpg winter / 46-55 mpg summer). No problem with battery pack or vehicle starting on several winter mornings with temperature at -30 deg F. Handles hilly, snow covered dirt road driving very well and is easy to control in slippery conditions. A very substantial, fun and sensible car to drive!!!
Great car
I like my Civic EX. The car is much heavier or feels much heavier than my 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE. On those windy days I don't feel my car being pushed all over the road. The engine is very solid and reliable and there haven't any problems for me to report. I love it! Also, The gas mileage is good....I generally get about 350 miles on a tank of gas, with gas prices being $1.49.
Just what I've been waiting for
This car gets great gas mileage for being a 4 seater. And it still drives as you expect a civic to drive. So far, I'm very happy with it.
2003 Civic EX
Very smooth transmission, roomy ride, great gas mileage.
