Best Affordable Car
This is my first time buying a Honda. Although I was going to buy the Honda Accord as my first choice, overall, you cant beat the civic. It is very room, comfortable and very sporty. I would recommend this to all the viewers who are reading this website. I have never had any problems with my civic. The civic, by far, is the best car that I have owned.
ALWAYS BROKEN DOWN
I bought my civic because I needed a car that would provide reliable transportation with good gas milage. My civic has had nothing but problems. I will list them: ECU (Computer) replaced three times, transmission replaced twice (the car is one it's third transmission!), and starter. Currently the car is having a fuel pump problem that two different dealerships have been unable to diagnose. Since the prerequisite for this car was reliability I am getting rid of it as soon as I get it back from the dealership.
Honda knew this car needed more torque!
I have driven this this car since new for 70000 miles. Overall a good reliable car and fun to drive on flatter roads and curves. Engive loves to rev, but low RPM torque is *very* weak. It's difficult to start from a dead stop up hills with steeper grades (especially when you're with passengers) - the engine just doesn't generate enough power unless you really rev it and burn the clutch! MPG in my opinion is average - 25.5 over life of the car with "normal" mixed city/hwy driving - and requires premium fuel. The original front brake pads lasted over 60000 miles for me.
Reliable car
Bought this car new in 2000 and it has been an excellent and very dependable car. Only issue I had during these 9 years was that a couple of years ago the driver's side window stopped working. Aside from that, a replaced battery and all scheduled maintenance. It does an excellent 34- 35 MPG and handles very well on the highway. You can't go wrong if you are looking for a reliable car.
2000 civic ex
I bought this car brand new and overall have been happy with it. I put 25k miles a year, and am now at 84k. I have had two problems so far. The ignitor went out luckily while still under warranty. The ac compressor went out this summer. I have used semisynthetic oil since new and it runs as strong as the day i drove off the lot.
