My new Accord is as smooth and as fast as lightning. It has so much on it for the money. It will be awhile before I know what can do. I’m sure I drive it for years to come.

Accord EX-L for the times

Full size room, quiet, all the current technologies with 50 mpg! Has more features than most reviews reported. Easy intuitive controls & don’t believe the reviews that claim offensive road noise. All with Honda’s reputation for reliability and long term value. Obviously we love it. The EX-L has the perfect standard package of safety, convenience and fun features.

Accords grow on you…with one issue

2025 Honda Accord SE 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

An admitted Accord fanboy here. I picked up my third Accord since 2018 this summer on yet another 3 year lease. It is a Canyon River Blue 2025 SE which looks really stylish to me with the black wheels. A little undercover cop car sinister thing. I did not love the styling of this gen when it first came out, but like every Accord, it grows on me over time. Well equipped with an instrument panel you can tailor to deliver the info you want in a couple formats. Honda finally moved the radar from below the bumper to behind the H on the grill. The below the grill one would get bug covered and the cover popped loose once. The lane keep assist is good for brief periods, like if you need to sneeze or scratch your eye, but I turn it off for the most part. It kind of detracts from all the engineering that goes into making the steering so good. And the adaptive cruise is very good, even on a curvy or hilly back road. Honda has figured out how to maintain speed going down hills, something the 2019 LX and the 2022 Sport could not do. But, when you pull out to pass on the freeway, just take over yourself. Between the nanny in the cruise and the turbo lag in the 1.5, it will hesitate to accelerate left to its own devices. Other than that, and the rubber steering wheel (seriously, Honda?) the only other issue, and it is a big one, was the moonroof exploding after just three weeks, admittedly in a very hot weather spell, but it’s a bad thing…Honda, after my dealer called up the food chain, is covering the replacement. That is the only issue I have had in any of my Accords. Compared with the 22, its smoother, quieter and a better ride ( the 17s vs the rubber band 19s make a difference). It still handles well and is still a joy to drive, but it’s more relaxed. And the 22 was getting 42-44 mpg…this one peaks at 40 so far, but it is a turbo in a hot summer and it hasnt been run in like the 22. And I have never experienced issues with the 1.5T, change oil every 3k because thats what we did back in the dark ages when I learned to drive.
