MME Totally Rocks!
I now have 36,000 miles on my 2021 Mustang Mach E. Got the Premium Long Range AWD version and still look forward to driving it. Never had so much acceleration in any prior cars. It's fun to charge down an entrance ramp on a highway and blow past the highway traffic. The car is quiet and offers artificial engine sounds which I don't use. My phone is my key.. Range anxiety is real as you need to plan charging for any drive beyond 270 miles. Mine is a commuter car--40 miles/day. I don't charge it every evening--about 2x each week. I have driven it 4x where a I used a fast charge in the middle of my travels. Still somewhat awkward to me simply because I don't do it enough. The MME is just an awesome car everyone wants to look at it. Besides the recalls, have not had a single major issue with the car. It is still a joy to drive. The technology is awesome. Blue cruise woks best when there is little traffic. Otherwise you’re constantly catching up to vehicles and can only pass them manually. Recent over the air updates have improved the screen interface meaningfully. I still love this car but use my wife's ICE SUV for serious travel.

It's a Horse of a Different Color...
We were choosing between a Model 3 Tesla and the Mach-E. We already have a Model Y, so either way, we were going two EVs. Had the Model 3 on order and the car was ready for us to buy - if we put the money down - beyond the $100. A friend asked why not consider the Mach-E? Still get a tax credit of $7500 and pretty fun to drive. So, we test drove and it is fun. The pick up is maybe a hair less fierce than the Tesla but not by much. There are some aspects we prefer and some we like less. The good things is build quality. Decades of building cars with tight tolerances on panel gaps etc shows. Simple things such as the car in the blind spot indicator on the mirror are tried and tested and seem better than Tesla's red car on the big screen system. Control of the air vents is easier, as is having the limited display in front of the steering wheel rather than everything on the big monitor in the middle. The door handles are great and make the look very sleek. The cabin is spacious and headroom is very good. The car handles very, very well and we like the aero wheels. The driving-influenced feed back on range (heavy foot less range) feature is a time tested feature that Tesla does not really have. That is more relevant in the Mach-E because we did not get the extended range (back-ordered for months), so we have 300 miles on Tesla vs. 200 on the Mach-E. Charging infrastructure is not something we are familiar with yet because we are just charging at home. We have the adapter to plug the Tesla plug into the Mach-E but that will not yet work with the Tesla superchargers. At home it works fine and the non-Tesla EV infrastructure will definitely improve. The connectivity of the Mach-E to Apple Car Play is better than the Tesla, but otherwise, the software is where the Tesla pulls away. Configuring profiles and phone as a key features in the Mach-E is not nearly as intuitive as in the Tesla: it is fiddly. The Tesla is just very Apple like in its operation. It is a platform that was designed that way from the ground up. Ford is incorporating the Tesla ethos into its existing platform. In that respect, it feels very v1.9 as opposed to 2.0. The access to features through the screen, though, may be a little better on the Ford. It has an onscreen manual, whereas with the Tesla we have on many occasions had to google "how to find how to...." on the Tesla and found the item lurking in some part of the screen submenu. The Mach-E feels more like driving a car around rather than a sleek iphone on wheels. Buying the Mach-E can feel like a more traditional, unpleasant and disagreeable car showroom experience. We had one of those where the salesman tried to sell us on marking up the MSRP because of demand (Scarsdale Ford). We left and went to Stevens Ford in Milford and dealt with a great salesman who we were referred to. No mark-up and great experience. Tesla is still more fun in that respect though: sales are totally online and showroom is just for demo. Very good. Overall, it is great to have the Mach-E and also great to have both platforms to compare.

Great Car, Poor Support
I have had a Mach-E since late February. It is my first EV and more fun to drive than the 2019 Mustang that I traded in. Sadly it has been sitting at a dealership for weeks because of some bad cells in the battery. Normally that would be a small problem that one would expect with a new model. But the reason it is sitting so long is because apparently no dealer in New England or the Ford factory rep has the tool needed to make the repair. So my overall view is if nothing breaks the car is fantastic. But if service is needed it could be a very long wait.

Mach-E CA Route 1
I enjoy this car more than I should. I didn't place an advanced order and had to track one down. The decision for me was wanting a long range model as my priority. Between the CA Route 1 and extended range Premium trim, the CR1 was the better choice. Here in sunny CA, heated seats and steering wheel don't get used much. The ambient lights and B&O system would be nice... but just not worth the price difference for me. The only thing that I wish the CR1 trim had would be the power liftgate. After driving it 2k miles, I find that it is slightly bouncy on city streets under 40MPH. This is my first EV and I understand that this is something most all EVs deal with due to the low center of gravity and battery pack weight. The glass roof made me a little nervous since where I live has been consistently over 100° for 40 of the last 50 days. It's not a problem and I don't even notice it since it has a nice dark, UV tint. Seats are all comfortable, but this drives (seating wise) like a tall wagon. Where I really noticed it was when taking my dog on a road trip. In my Escape that I had, I would lay the back seats down and have the window down for him to stick his head out. With the escape, he would be in a normal standing position to look out the window. In the Mach-E, with seats down, he is ducking his head down and out the window. I almost feel like he will jump down and out of the window. Not an issue, but noteworthy. This is due to the thick floorboard since the batter pack is tucked in there. You will really notice it when you open the door and see step in. Charging has been great with the Charge and Pay option turned on. And the included mobile charger works fine. Be sure to download all the different charging apps and have them setup so you not fumbling through paying at the station. I've see some people mention that their FordPass app doesn't trigger their doors to unlock quick enough with Phone as a Key. Yes, this is a slight issue. However, I do recommend (depending on your OS) to pin the app as always on. Also, make sure it doesn't get automatically turned off with your battery saver mode. This has helped me out. I also recommend making the door code and car PW immediately. It is handy in case your device dies. The current cruise control and lane keeping assistant are features from previous Fords and are fine, but I'm hoping the BlueCruise is considerably better. The android auto works great, wired or wireless. However, wireless android auto is a battery drainer and I do prefer plugging it in instead. Google really needs to get the EV charging better integrated into Google maps. It's nice that the Mach-E reads the android auto Google maps directions on the drivers display. Google also needs to offer Netflix, Hulu or YouTube on Android Auto. Or Ford needs to add screen mirror or chromecast to their hardware to watch videos. This only to pass the time when charging at an EV station. Overall, the Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 hits the right spot for me and I highly recommend this car. Unless this will be used in city streets as a short commuter car, I would skip the Select model and go to Premium trim or better.

Two Year Update: Still so many problems
24 Month Update::: More issues in the last six months, including the High Voltage Junction Box having issues that instead of being replaced, Ford released a software update that restricts power flow to/from the battery to prevent the junction box from overheating. This results in your vehicle periodically operating at 30% power, which is rather poor performance. Otherwise, 12volt battery died one day after a software update and I had to get it towed again. I'll stick to this as a summary: when it works, it is a great car, but if you're looking for reliability it is pretty horrible in that category. 18 Month Update::: Unfortunately, while still fun to drive when the vehicle is actually operational, the Mach-E AWD LR continues to be a pretty horrible purchase in retrospect. -Brakes/Rotors continue to have issues. Have surfaced multiple times since the original time they were 'machined'. -Multiple check engine light issues, most local dealerships still can't work on these so wait times are usually a month or longer in order to get the new mechanical issues resolved -Winter battery life is awful. During non-winter months I seem to get around 275ish miles on a full charge. During winter months (and let's be reasonable, I am in North Carolina so winter is mild) I get maybe 200 at the most. It's pretty horrible. Original::: I purchased my 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E AWD LR on July 1st, 2021. Since then I've run into multiple issues: -Rotors have had to be 'machined' due to them sticking -Brakes constantly having 'clunking' noises. Any time it rains, they become shaky--not the usual slight amount of rust that forms, but really shaky, bumpy braking -Recall on Windshield and panoramic roof glass panel that my local dealerships 'can't work on because they're not certified' -System errors that result in the vehicle needing to be restarted while in the middle of driving I would expect some minor issues since it is the first model year and new technology, but most of the issues are on things that have nothing to do with the new technology and are more of quality assurance type issues. The main problem, however is that none of the local Ford dealerships are 'certified' to work on the MachEs. I'm not in a rural area, I'm outside of a large city.
