Bought the truck brand new back in 2012. Been an excellent vehicle. Prior to this truck, I owned two Silverado’s that were great trucks as well. Bought the Ford because they didn’t take the govt bailout. Truck currently has 255k, original front end, motor, trans. Had to replace a $300 water pump and a $1200 clutch pack in the rear differential, that’s it. Oh, maybe a $60 electric motor seat switch. Great truck, pulled a lot of stuff across the country and actually used like a truck. 5.0 is the way to go.

I bought it new from the local dealership seven years ago next month. Besides 3.5 ecoboost and max tow package, 4x4 Off Road package with locking rear diff and skid plates. Stickered at $45,000, year end price was $40k. Dealer wouldn't negotiate much on price, but gave me very fair value on my 2005 Frontier trade in trade.I have put 98,000 miles on it,12,000 towing 6,000 pound trailer. love the ecoboost for towing, very impressive over Colorado passes such as Red Mountain, Lizard Head and Wolf Creek. Decent fuel economy with original tires, combined was 20 mpg. Didn't care for the Goodyear 4 ply Wranglers though. Currently running BFG all terrain10ply tires, mileage dropped to 18 combined. Truck feels much more planted and corners better. I drive it out of town for work often and very pleased with reliability. I take it to Ford for full service oil change every 5k miles. Only other expenses, two sets of tires, battery, front brakes at 90,000. The throttle body failed at 68,000 miles. Dealer repaired at a cost of $670 . This is the only maintenance expense that I would consider outside of normal wear and tear. I have to park it in the driveway because it's a little big to fit in the garage. It still looks near new inside and out. My "owners satisfaction" rating is excellent. I plan to keep it another 7 years.

I like the truck. Last month (3/2020) at 94,000 miles I replaced all 4 rotors and brake discs. We often use the truck to pull our 31 ft travel trailer. I change the oil on a regular basis with synthetic oil. One issue I have had is engine hesitation when the truck is first started up. The issue goes away after a minute or two of driving. Another issue is the tail gate not always latching when closing. Sometimes requiring several attempts to properly latch. Gas mileage around town is ~14 mpg. On the highway ~19 mpg. Towing the camper ~9.5 mpg. The gas calculator for mpg and remaining mileage is not too accurate but gives you a ball park value.

The Ecoboost has great power for a V6. But the drawback is fuel mileage. We average about 11.5 city/ and a whooping 17 hwy if we stay in the right lane. The supercab 4 door is a terrible design. You need ALOT of room on both sides to get in/out. Front doors do not have a "catch" point when you open. Be ready to hold the door if you don't want to hit the vehicle next to you. If you have back seat riders, you have to undo your seat belt and open the front door in order to let them in or out, since the seat belt is attached to the back door. Prior years had the seat belt attached to the front seat, which at least kept you from having to undo your seat belt. The ride is great though. Very smooth at all speeds. The locking rear diff is very nice when pulling boat out of the water, or driving through mud. Overall, we like the truck, but don't use it much do to the very, very poor fuel economy. We purchased brand new and have had it 8 years now, with only 42k. Update: As of 08/2019, not much has changed. We took a trip to Daytona Beach pulling a trailer with 2 motorcycles on it, and averaged 10.6 mpg. Terrible fuel economy. The truck still performs very well though. It looks very nice sitting in the garage for most of it's life. We almost feel guilty driving it due to it's combined 13.1 mpg (lack of) fuel economy.

One of the best cars I have ever owned,and I have owned many cars,i.e. Mercedes-Benz,BMW,Lexus,Toyota,Chevy,Buick,Cadillac,Nissan,Pontiac,Range-rover,Hummer,to name a few!
