2013 CMAX - NOT worth the money
Purchased our CMAX SEL 11-16-2012 because the sticker in window said 47 mpg, city & hiway. As did the sales person. Have owned the care for 3 weeks and have taken on short 100 mile trips to check mileage. At best the vehicle gets 33 MPG. Took it back to dealer and they say you have to wait until 3,000 for vehicle to get advertised mileage. Car is not worth the money. I do not advise you buy one, put your money on a vehicle that will give you your monies worth and from a dealer that will support you ..Ford should be ashamed for false advertising and poor excuses for the vehicles poor performance. Don't expect any support from your Ford Dealer or Ford !! Does not come with a spare tire either
Cmax tricks prius owner
I haved owned 2 priuses and wanted to try something new and the 47/47 on the sticker was close to what I was getting on the prius. After buying am only getting 37 mpg. Would give the car pluses on design, is fun to drive and comfortable but the 47/47 is a lie..not happening and the prius never failed to get near that. Oh well..lesson learned.
Extremely poor reliability, failed after 2 month
The engine had crazy noise, dealer said it is normal. The door chime is not there, now after 7 weeks, the transmission failed. Ford not only lied about the mpg, they did not even test it, they just decide to put a number there, but they have the audacity to insult Hyundai when NHTSA fined Hyundai, yet [non-permissible content removed] government did not even investigate Ford's lie. Asked Ford ex-employee, told Ford demand the orginal transmission maker to reveal their trade secret to Ford and Visteon, then both companies compete for Ford's business, of course original supplier was angry, possibly provided low-quality parts to Ford. Ford should just go out of business!
Started out Great - Not so sure now!
Absolutely loved my C-Max at the beginning. Solid, great handling and lots of power compared to my earlier Prius. Perfectly satisfied with the 39 MPG as well given my lead foot. My only concern from the start was reliability. Now at 15,000 miles and am a bit scared. Clock changes time by itself whenever it wants, but that's no big deal. The real concern is that the doors are starting to creak very badly. Hope it's just the weather stripping but may be body flex, which isn't particularly fixable. If all that weight on basically a Focus frame turns out to be a mistake I see big problems ahead for this car.
It's ok but not great
I've got 73000 miles on it and I've had to replace my windshield 5 times it's to big to be sturdy I only had a rock hit once and it shattered the rest of the times it just cracked from the edge in. The worst was I hit a pot hole and it cracked immediately. Tires going flat all the time even though I replaced rims and tires twice. I love it but I won't buy again.
