I love my C-MAX

What I don't understand is why Ford doesn't push these cars 24-7. They have the same engine (Atkinson) as the Toyota Prius but in my opinion, they are a much nicer , roomier vehicle. I also prefer the CMAX steering and drivability of the CMAX. I cannot begin to count the n umber of people who ask me, "What kind of car is that?' When I say it is a CMAX, inevitably they respond by saying "Never heard of that." When I say it is made by Ford in the US and mine is getting 44MPG (regular) they gasp for air and, usually repeat, "I've never heard of them." Ford dealers I go to do not stock them and don't even have brochures. It is a great car and I highly recommend people go for a drive in one (if they can find one:-(-

C-Max beats Prius hands down

Navigation system is great. Best mileage when in town, highway driving brings it down. Better handling, acceleration and creature comforts than a Prius. Full golf bag won't fit across cargo area, need to lower one side of rear seats.

Excellent choice

I got my C-Max a couple of months ago. I absolutely LOVE it. It is fun to drive, zippy when you need it, fantastic gas milage. I get 44 mpg routinely with the AC on and that is exactly what my 2004 Civic Hybrid got (also a great car). But I tend to have a lead foot with take offs. My husband can get milage in the high 50-mid 60s around town and 47 on the highway. Because I could not stand to let him win, I smoothed out my quick starts and also get 46mpgs. The car is comfortable to drive and ride as a passenger. Plenty of space for passengers in the back or to haul around stuff. It is really a great car.

TOO MANY PROBLEMS FOR LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD

we had to replace the Brakes and rotors in the rear after 6 months of owning the cmax. Now we are being told the whole suspension, rotors, brakes is shot and needs replaced again after having a year and half. This should not be happening. Had to replace the windshield and now the automatic wipers don't work, plus there is only two speeds on the wipers too slow and super fast and even the super fast doesn't work well. The clock will not stay on time, and the electronics went crazy on me. radio randomly shutting off, could no longer get text messages to come in. There is a roaring in the back so you can barely talk to the person next you, for a hybrid it is not quiet on the highway! Now there are some good things about the car. I love space in the front and back seat. Easy to get my daughters carseat in and out and I love the MPG but with all the mechanically issue with only owning for a year and half I am not happy.

This is a great car. We enjoy driving very much. The milage has been great. According to the on board computer we are getting just under 47 MPG. However when we manually calculate we are getting 49 MPG (mostly city driving). The car handles well and rides well. We are very pleased at this point. The only thing I can say bad about it at this point is the sync system doesn't work well. It will recognize my wifes voice but it will not recognize mine. We need to stop back at the dealer to see if they have any suggestions. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone who is interested in a hybrid.
