I traded in my Mercedes for this sleek, safe and very cool small SUV. Feels like luxury vehicle on the inside and the ride is extremely smooth. Very well thought out details for the price!

Bronco Sport design flaws

I love the looks. I love the size. I love the exterior and the interior. I previously had two Ford Escapes and knew the Escape platform was the basis for the Bronco Sport. BUT...I should have examined the bronco more closely, and if you're thinks of buying one, so should you. The driver's seat is too low, even at its maximum. And worse....I would even say dangerous...the gas pedal is further away , and much smaller, than the break pedal. So if you practice heel/ toe driving, you will find that if you position your heel so as to use the brake, only your toes will reach the gas. In fact, your foot can easily slide off the gas pedal altogether, and could conceivably slip UNDER. And conversely, if you position your foot to rest properly and effectively on the gas pedal, you may have to lift your leg or slide your foot back to apply the brake. This seems like an accident waiting to happen.

I bought my Bronco Sport a year ago. In that year I have had my Bronco in the shop 10 times for the same issue. Not to include the other issues it has had. The digital screen internmenttly doesn't work. The shop has replaced the instrument cluster twice now, the gateway module, and wiring harness. Still having the same issues. I started a claim with Ford for the buyback process. On top of the screen the window seals failed and it rained inside the car, the doors won't unlock unless you use the key and have to reboot the system to fix it, front mud flaps fell off, and carpet started peeling and the check engine light comes on for catalytic converter in which Ford said it's fine clear the code, just needs to be driven longer to work it in. I love my bronco and hate it. I'm beyond frustrated for the amount of times it's been in the shop.

Not only does my Bronco have squeaking brakes, it also grinds/rubs on the right front passenger side when turning the steering wheel. I dropped my vehicle off at the dealership for recalls on the hydraulic brakes and the right hand engine oil seperator on June 11, 2002 and didn't get it back until July 11, 2022. The brakes were not replaced and I was told that they would not get parts in until Oct. I was told that the right hand oil seperator was replaced but they did not get the oil need in from Ford. The invoice states that the part passed and there were no leaks or damange found as per fmc. What I was told and what's written on the invoice didn't match. The squeaking brakes and the grinding sound on the right front passenger side when turning the steering wheel is still there with no improvement AT ALL. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!
