best truck
I bought this truck after my older Dodge was totaled in an accident. I wouldn't feel safe in anything else. Never had any problems with either truck except BASIC upkeep. Water pump needed to be replaced at 100k miles because supposedly the 2000 were the first year they used a new one. Other then that, no problems. Gas mileage is around 18 mpg, doesn't suck gas like other trucks. Far better mpg then my fathers '07 Titan.
Satisfied Ram Owner
Excellent truck. This was my 4th truck since switching over from cars. This truck was very dependable. The down side is that it was a gas hog.Other than normal maintence, and replacing a fog lamp before 1 year I had no problems at all.I have driven other friends trucks an I had thought mine had power, but after driving theirs I realized mine was adequate, but not overwhelming if i was towin a boat etc.
2000 Ram 1500 Review
Great truck to own. It's seven years old and only had to replace the transmission. After transmission replacement, it's been awesome!
Reliable over long haul
I bought my truck new 10 years ago and have drove 176,000 miles. Overall a good quality truck. I replaced the transmission at 120,000 miles but no other big ticket repairs. It has been a good truck but has always sucked a lot of gas through the 5.9 l engine (about 14mpg).
Run Away
I purchased this vehicle with 58,000 miles on it. I have had it for 7 months and have had to replace the transmission, rear end, rebuild the front end and spend $1,500 on the air conditioning. My advice is to steer clear. I have never owned a bigger lemon.
