Used 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Consumer Reviews
Reliable
Best vehicle I’ve ever owned! Replaced Transmission around 140000mls Radiator around 170000mls & water pump. Besides Tires, Brakes & Oil every 5000mls it’s still running with ice cold air conditioning. Bought another 2016 Grand Caravan & love it. Update)

Unreliable long-term
Looking to buy a minivan (Not Dodge!!!!) Kept current Caravan in excellent condition & purchased ext. warranty. Transmission blew @ 76,000 miles (- $2600); A/C compressor & evaporator went at 102,000 miles (-$2700) of course after attaining full "paid off" ownership. Seemed like a "timed" bomb. Total cost of 7-yr old van after initial investment = $27,000. Not reliable for long-term ownership. Dodge servicing in South FL. (used several) was not satisfactory as well.

Not so Happy
Major problem: At 42,000 miles, steering rack went out. Very dangerous to drive because steering would stick in a turn. Cost $700 to fix, just barely out of warranty (36,000) and less than 2 years old. Also, fuel injector went out at this time also, $300 to fix. Had to replace battery at 2 1/2 years. Minor: Interior moldings frequently come apart. Don't think there should be this many problems!
Good car for the money
Overall this has been a nice ride. We bought it to drive from Newport Beach, CA to Key West, FL and back again. We also stopped quite a bit in between it was our honeymoon. Our honeymoon wouldn't have survived if we had any other vehicle for this trip. Big enough to take naps and sleep comfortable on a queen size air mattress in the back, and all the other things associated with traveling great distances.
I miss my van
If I hadn't been hit two different times in one week and the insurance totaled it out, I would still be driving this van. I bought the van used in 2002. Yes, it had all the problems associated with Dodge vans  I replaced the transmission, the carpet under the passenger side stayed wet in the summer, etc. Many of the problems I was able to repair myself just by watching Youtube. Anyway, before I started driving with a Âtarget on my van, which caused me to be hit twice by two different people in one week (not my fault), I had just turned 234,000 miles! I will miss it. PS: When trying to get rid of the van most salvage yards would not take Caravans.
