Used 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Consumer Reviews
Wow
Car is fun to drive, handles well. It is a real kick after driving large vehicles for a long period of time.
It's fun
I love the car on a whole. Except for when it rains, it sounds like i have marbles puncing off the roof.

Fun to Drive Turns heads
Have been looking at this model, as well as the BMW Z4 and the 350Z, for several months. The Crossfire has the best value, with all the great rebates offered by Chrysler. Having lots of fun driving, no problems so far, looks great, and look forward to driving this car each day.
My New Car!!
I had a 2004 Crossfire...saw this 2005 new limited convertible and had to have. It is a keeper! I love the look, the drive, and the quality of all the products in it. Everyone admires as they see it parked or on the road.
Better than the SLK
Having owned both cars, I feel that I can accurately state that the Crossfire is an amazing deal. It has sexy lines, and is a very rare car. This car turns heads everywhere. The are two flaws. It could use a little extra horsepower, and Chrysler RUINED an excellent Mercedes designed CUP HOLDER, by raising the Air conditioning vent. This was absolutely ridiculous. The cup holder in the SLK was perfect, hidden and could hold to big cups. Chrysler engineers elected to get rid of it. HUGE MISTAKE. It is a huge detail when you have had both cars, and had the better cup holder in the SLK. However, I would still get this car again.
Tremendous Value/ Quality/ Fun to Drive
Look up 'Refined' in the dictionary and you'll see Crossfire's picture. This is fully Mercedes and one of their better models. I love to drive and be seen in this beauty. It is a great cruiser with a comfortable ride at 80. The engine is smooth throughout the rpm range. Tiptronic tranny is not good: it is perfect. Tires hold the road is the tightest turns. Fun to drive and fun to find value without overspending. This car is a winner!
What a Great Car
I LOVE THIS CAR
mbepic review
I find this vehicle to be a very solid, good handling car. The six speed manual transmission is great and the clutch is smooth. I am confident that the vehicle is well built and after putting 7000 miles and owning for 6mths, driving everyday, the car has had virtually know problems.
This is the one
Never have I had so much fun driving a car! Everytime I drive it someone comments, whether it's a "thumbs-up" or something else. One of my best purchases!!!!
loads of fun
great looking car with a lot of power and plenty of comfort a lot of fun when the top is down and great road feel
ahead of its time
overall very pleased. the vehicle is clearly ahead of the crowd..plus i love all the stares
Don't buy one
Fabulous car!!! Please don't buy one. I like being in the minority! Although the hp numbers may not excite you, the styling, handling and actual performance will.
The car is fun
This car is fun to drive and I have actually had people follow me until I come to a stop requesting to know what kind of vehicle it is and asking to see it. The vehicle handles well and I feel very safe in it. Even on Mountain roads. For a convertible, with the top up the visability is better than I had expected. The ride is quieter than my other car which is a sedan.
No Blah Blah Here
The Crossfire is one beautiful car. I think the design is one of the best ever. I had narrowed by search down to a Crossfire, Thunderbird, or Corvette, but after driving the Thunderbird and pricing the Corvette, the Crossfire was the best choice for driving experience and price. I am happy with my decision. The Crossfire is well built, comfortable, and has a Mercedes feel. No Blah Blah here!
Crossfire excitment
I purchased the crossfire in mid july 2004 and have been having a blast with it ever since. Everything from the body styling to the interior to the suspension is hot on this model. The only thing that would be better about it is, they could stand to put some more horses in her. But current horsepower isnt any slouch though.
Best car I've ever owned
Love the interior design and it handles very good, it's fun to drive and never had any problem, I will buy a Crossfire for as long as they make it and it draws lots of attention
A fun car
Excellent ride, impressive accelaration, well worth the price !
Teresa's review
Really a fun car to drive. Love everything about it except the cup holder and the fact that I can't put my golf clubs in the trunk. Took a long top-down road trip on a curvy road and it was the greatest fun. I tested the BMW Z4 before deciding on the Crossfire which is quieter and has a more gentle ride. Not comfortable driving in the snow, but that was expected, use my SUV for that purpose.
Fun car !!
Great design. Just about every time it's on the road it get looks, thumbs up and even stopped by people who want to see it. It even appeals to the 60 and over people including women who say "My husband has to buy me one of those." After driving this for 4 months we sold the Porsche. Have a Roadster on order.
What a Car.
I bought a Blaze Red Pearlcoat Limited Roadster for myself for Christmas. Quality was excellent. I have had more fun with this car than any other car I have ever had including Mercedes and Toyota sports cars. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
2005 Crossfire Ltd Roadster
Sure is nice to have a car with torque, 2 A4's, turbo 4 w/ quattro, great cars, but no acceleration 0-30. Bought a roadster, can't wait for warm weather to drop the top. Room for more ammenities, but that would just drive up the cost. My wife's RX-8 has it beat for handling, but this car is more for cruising, with the top down.
Eye Appeal
My Crossfire has sure captured the attention of all motorists I have encountered. This vehicle is extremely well built, excellent road handling and fun to drive.
2005 Crossfire Convertible
Age 53- first purchase of a sportscar/ convertible. Most fun ever to drive, looks from all who go by. Impressed by Mercedes participation. Going on driving trip- husband says lack of luggage space is not a bad thing.
Best car ever owned
the best handling car I ever had. I had it up to 150 mph and it was as smooth as going 40 mph
2005 Crossfire
I feel that the Crossfire is one of the Best built cars on the road today. It is solid, well built, everything matches up, nothing miss aligned. It handles the road like no other. The only thing they could have done to make it better, is to make a little more room for us tall people. I am 6'3" and it is a little close.
MerChrysler!
I bought this car after looking at many others such as Mustang GT, G35, 350Z, Audi TT and M-B SLK. The Crossfire is a far more interesting vehicle and reminds me of nothing else out there is bland car land. Only the TT has as much chararcter. It may not be as fast as some of the others, but it has other amazing qualities. I love the look, the ride and the fact that it is not one of 160,000 sold. Quality is amazing since the "donor" was an excellent car to begin with. However, the main reason to buy a car such as the Crossfire is the way it looks. This car looks better than many exotics costing 4 times as much. I love this car and it was flawless in the 15 day Florida trip I took it on!
AWESOME....
Ive wanted this car for the longest time since I saw it and test drove it. It turns on a dime and stops on a dime. The way people gawk and stare at the car makes me feel like im driving a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. This is my first sportscar and it was a great choice in my book!
5 time Corvette owners point of view.
The car is amazingly fun to drive on north Georgia's mountain roads, and is a real head turner. It doesn't have the power of my new Vette, but makes up for it in the fun to drive/head-turner catagories...
My Crossfire
After approx 4k miles I can say that I am very happy that I purchased this car. The features are great, the ride is styling and the value is unbeatable. A couple of minor items are 1 or 2 more DC connections, radio could be more straightforward to use and a Sirius option would be nice, a spare or ride flat tires and finally some better after market stuff from MOPAR.
Regular Folks Mercedes
Drives like a Vette, hugs the road, plenty of pep. Really is a stand out car, truly exciting. The car has the Mercedes drive line and is quality all the way.
Crossfire Review, 2005
The only drawback is that can't carry anything in the car, not even golf clubs (have to put in front seat). fantastic car to drive. I have people constantly come up and admire the car.
Classy
Love it!! Owned 3 Z's but this one tops them all. Classy, Sharp and a Lot of Fun to drive. Feel very safe even though it is small. The luggage is nice too.
Must Have!
Everybody loves it. Great performance for average driving and road conditions. Straightens out all the roads around here. Awesome curb appeal. Gets many comments.
Just Plain Great
Saw it...Bought it...could not believe the value, fun and looks...yes a head turner...bought a black on black roadster...drives amazing well...great built car...you know it is a quality drive.
So much Fun!
My wife bought one, I negotiated the price. I can't tell you how much fun this car is. I get so many compliments, I think I am driving a $100k car. The roadhandling qualities are European of course and are very accurate. The overall design makes me think I am driving an Aston Martin. People stare at the car every where we go in awe. I haven't had so much fun in a long time. The overall quality feels very good. No problems to report so far. Solid metal panels, smooth Mercedes engine and transmission. I test drove other two seaters and for the money I feel I got the most car.
cool ride
I simply love this car, it rides smooth and quiet, has plenty of power, get more attention than I need or want. Talk about a chick magnent! The top works smooth and with no effort. The sound system is great!
Luv My Car !!!
Traded in my beautiful 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (a bit large) for this compact 2-seater and have absolutely NO regrets! Gas savings is a big plus, but the car handles great and looks great and is HEAVENLY with the top down. Even though I look like 007 while the top does it's thing.
Fresh Yet Classic Styling
I enjoy everything about this very uniquely styled fun to drive instant classic. So many other cars look common. This is a special automobile inside and out. Wow! A blast to drive. There is no other car in the world I would rather own.
Great 3rd car!
I bought mine as my daily commuter and it works well for that -- fun to drive, reasonably efficient (for a luxury sport car) and, well, it's damned fun to drive! People taller than 6'1" will probably not be comfortable in this car (I'm that and the top of my head just barely rubs the headliner from time to time). Fit and finish are superb as you would expect from the germans and the drivetrain is smooth (Contrary to most reviews, I find the 6-speed manual easy to get along with). Manners at speed are excellent! Interior needs improvement -- chrome plated plastic has to go and the cup holder stinks. Overall a great, fun car and I wouldn't trade it for anything but the ragtop version!
If you want an EGO BOOSTER buy one
Owning one is like being a celebrity. I've owned my Black Crossfire for four months and I'm still not used to all the attention I get when I'm driving it. I've had people stop me in parking lots and ask about it. I've had a man pull up next to me at a stop light and ask " How much fun is it to drive that?" My answer "It's like driving a rocket ship" My wife has a new Black Mustang GT Convertible and I get four times the comments she does. My Golf clubs fit just fine...once you learn how to get them in. I even got two sets of clubs in. The GPS Navigation System is like having an Automatic Pilot, works like a charm.
What a Beauty-Get Ready for OO's & AH's
This vehicle has been total fun so far. Ride is big, solid feeling and safe. The comparisons with the M/B SLK have not been lost on this owner, especially the fact that they are made on similar platforms in the same German factory. * Not overly important to us
very happy
I have owned a lot of cars but this one is a blast to drive. I am a very happy with this purchase. The top is fast and easy to use.
After 1 Yr - Love my Crossfire Convert!!
I've had my Crossfire Convertible for 13 months and I love it. I got the first one delivered to the dealer. It's been dependable, fun to drive, and it definitely turns heads. In that time, I have only seen one other on the road, and I like that exclusiveness. I've seen about 10 coupes in the same period. The car is beautiful, especially with the top down. I would like a little more horsepower, but I would still choose this car over the 350Z, Z4, or S2000. I did have a transmission leak after only 3 months, but the dealer took care of that and its been fine since. (I just might have been driving it too hard!)
Awesome car
I truly enjoy this car. It has great power, tons of leg room and drives wonderfully. The only disadvantage for me is the trunk as in there is none. I love my new car.
This is it!
I have owned this car for 8 months and it has been a blast to drive. It has great torque and HP. It's all you need to have to enjoy this size car. It is not a muscle car but a sports car and can it handle, it is glued to the road. The quality is German it shows everywhere the fit of pats and the even lines, look under the hood everything is well laid out and uniform. This car turns heads at every intersction.
Fast and Furious Crossfire - That's Hott
This car has been a pleasure to drive for me. The convertible top goes down with ease and looks stylish in the process. The way you can switch over from automatic to stick shift is also nice for those tight situations. The heated seats work so fast, that is a huge plus! I also received a complimentary Chrysler 3 piece luggage set that fits perfectly in my trunk (it is so cute, the wheels on the luggage are just like my actual car wheels, all chrome and shiny).
Tons of fun!
This was absolutely the best car for the money. I was tired of 'family' cars and wanted something that I didn't get asked time and time again to help move someone. This thing takes off like a scalded dog in fourth and fifth. Love it every time I take it on the highway.
I love it
I have owned Vettes in the past but this is more fun and less expensive. I wouldn't trade it for anything. The luggage that they send you for buying one is just another advantage. It is absolutely the best purchase I have ever made.
Love my Crossfire
This car is fun to drive it's a real head turner when ever we drive it someone always comes up to look at the car or asks what it is. I even had a guy get out at a stop light and ask where we got it.
On Fire
My experience has been great. Well-designed for someone under 6 Feet tall. Very sleek and sexy. Definitely an eye catcher. Good speed. Lots of space in trunk.
