Used 2006 Chrysler 300 Consumer Reviews
Candy to the eye
I love my 2006 Chrysler 300L! It is beautiful to look at, so comfortable to ride in and the highway mileage can't be beat. When traveling over 50 mph on the road, put it in cruise. Chrysler has built in a mechanism that shifts my vehicle from a 6 cylinder to a 4 cylinder and I get 460 miles to the tank! The only complaint I have is that the engine is kinda loud for a luxury car. But it definitely has POWER and COMFORT. I love, love, love my beautiful car! Silvia, El Paso, TX
300C car of the year
When i bought 300 limited, it was like love in first sight. I was waiting for the Avalon though, but when i heard the horrible problems of the Avalon, i decided to go buy the 300. The 300 looks very superior in looks and luxury to the avalon. I hope all of you buy the 300.

Early returns on the C
The Satin Jade C is 5 months and 7000 miles old now. At this point no issues have occurred with regard to reliability. It has not been back to the dealer. It is comfortable, fun, and quick for such big car. Although these have been around a couple of years now, people still comment on its looks, and so far those comments have all been positive. I look for excuses to drive it still. We took the Sirius, power moonroof, side airbags, adjustable pedals. Mileage has not been bad for the HEMI. So far so good.
300C Hemi
We have had our loaded 300C for just one month and we are very happy with the purchase. Everyone comments on how beautiful the car is. It is an incredible deal for the money. Can't wait to drive it every day. It is not perfect, but for the money what is!! Couldn't be happier. Will write another review in a few months.
A lot of car for the money!
I considered this car for 6 months as I looked at many others in the same price range. I can confidently say that this car is the absolute "best buy" in the market today of anything priced around $30,000 or less. Looks like a Bentley, drives like a Mercedes and gets 27 miles to the gallon on the highway - what's not to love? You won't regret making the decision to buy this car.
Love the C
The 300C is big, very comfortable, fast, and the styling is like nothing else seen on the highways. Both the wife and I feel very safe driving this car. The metal part of the door is high, giving one a sense of being "in not on" the car. The 5.7 liter V8 is powerful, quiet, and a Hemi. The multi-displacement system that shuts off 4 cylinders and switches to 8 when more power is needed works imperceptibly. Highway mileage is good for such a big car. We get 23-25 MPG on highway. However, only about 15 mpg in town, but I am not one to keep from enjoying the acceleration that the Hemi affords. One trip to the dealer was needed due a leaking transmission sensor.
Great Car for the Money!
Love my 300C, Great car for the money. Gets lots of looks, has lots of power & get up & go. I had my 300C into the Chrysler dealer in McKinney, Texas for the front tires feathering. The dealer says this is normal. I wonder what happens when the tires wear down bald on the edges? I like other 300C owners can't seem to get the claimed gas mileage, I get 12 city & 21.2 hwy. The Navi system doesn't show as many street names on it & you can not operate it while moving like my Mazda3s system. You must stop & pull over. I am starting to worry about the resale value now. You can get a used 300C right at $30k. I paid over $37k new in June. All in all I love this car!
2006 SRT-8 driving experience
I drive about 60 miles a day on both interstate and country two lane roads. The performance is wonderful. The ride is very stable but you do feel the road through the tires and solid suspension which I expected. I find find myself disengaging the traction control so I can experience the true power. The care is all that I expected.I previously owned an BMW M5 but I like this car much better and 20,000 dollars less. I installed a K&N cold air system and have a chip ordered to install also.
Feels like a sports car!
When I first saw the car in 2004 I wasn't very impressed. This car grows on you. It is elegant, very zippy and fun to drive. Carrying 4 passengers and a driver on a road trip to Miami was very comfortable with lots of room for luggage - trunk is huge! I optioned mine with a moon roof, luxury interior, Nav system, and protection package. I get lots of complements on it. Only complaint is that the Nav System is about 2 years out of date in some cases and I haven't been too successful in getting info on the updates.
Another Hemi - Man
I've had my car about 3 weeks now and I want to thank Edmunds...went into the dealership with the TMV price inside my head and drove out with a 300C at over $1200 lower than that. The old saying knowledge is power!! I got the metallic black..tinted the windows...slapped some deep dish 20's on there...my buddies says it looks like a mob car..lol..needless to say I love it....THX again!!
Awesome
This is by far the most fun car I have ever driven. The ultimate dream for every child at heart! I am waiting for an opportunity to take it somewhere where I can let it run and not worry about getting a huge speeding ticket. I had a young boy on a bicycle tell me what a sharp car it was----he was willing to trade his bike for the car! One of the local police officers was almost drooling over the car when he saw it.
Step up to the plate and get a 300!
Just purchased my new 2006 awd touring...and all i have to say is nothing but "praise" for this car...it handles so well, and is such a smooth ride. It has great power 250 horse for the 3.5 engine. For all the nay-sayers out there, you dont know what your missing!! I am 27 years old and bought this vehicle and i have had people i dont even know approach me out of the blue and have recieved compliments from them!! What are you waiting for?!?!? Step up to the plate and buy this car if you're even considering it!!
The 300C
The 300C handles well and has outstanding acceleration. Overall, a very nice, well designed car.
Powerful Fun
Incredibly powerful driving fun. Plush interior, lots of gadgets to play with. Bluetooth calling and heated seats are just a few of the now essential features I use. GPS is very helpful, esp driving around Los Angeles. Sound system is wonderful and "control center" very intuitive, integrating phone, CDs, radio, satellite radio, GPS all on the steering wheel. Car feels safe. Enormous trunk space. Barely 3000 miles on the odometer, but enjoying every drive thoroughly.
Everything and More
I have only had my 300C for 3 months. After driving it for 5,000 miles, i am more impressed with it's comfort and handling than I was at first. I find that it isn't just a way to get from point A to Point B - it is an experience akin to flying first class in a widebody jet. I also enjoy the looks that passing motorist give it. the fuel economy isn't a real factor since i appreciate the 4,000 plus pounds of security that it ofers my family, along with the fact that the 5.7 Hemi provided more that enough power to get out trouble. the tranny is super responsive. I don'y have near enough room to praise the interior except to say - TOPS! In general, I could be happier with my new 300C.
Show-stopper/Head-turner
Although it is not the Hemi, I feel that it still has enough power to get you where you need to go and in good timing. It has been one of the better looking vehicle I have ever purchased. I am a Chrysler fan, being that this is the 6th one since 1980. This car is very roomy and the design is one of the best. Handles the road well.
Don't miss the SUV
I bought this car after obsessive shopping and am completely satisfied. The black with chrome is very classy. It is alot of car for the money. The bluetooth u-connect where the phone comes through the radio/nav is cool. The DVD hidden in the center console and headsets keep everyone happy. The navigation is terrific. I've been driving it for 6 months with no regrets! My husband who is a BMW person loves the drive and power. Great on long trips.Gas mileage up to 22 mpg. Highly recommend this car for all ages. Seems very solid.
"Bombastic !!!"
Test drove all three models (Hemi last). Boy was that fun. Best Car I have ever owned. MOST BANG FOR THE BUCK than anything in or out of class. Have not had it on the open road, but am impressed on local highways. Power is key with this piece of joy.
Chrysler 300 Limited
I purchased a Cool Vanila, that attracts attention and returns favorable comments. I chose the 3.5L engine. It does a good job but I would not want the smaller engine.
lincolns and cadillacs eat dust
have always driven a cad or a lincoln until 4/05 when we purchased a 300C. in dec.06 we bought an SRT8. we were going to buy another Hemi. a salesman allowed us to drive the SRT8. we were sold at that point. "THE VERY BEST OF ALL THE CARS WE HAVE EVER OWNED.
Black Crystal 300C
This is my first Chrysler, my wife and I looked and test drove many different makes including Cadillac, Mercedes,Acura,Toyota ... etc. What sold us on this car was the style, performance and value. We have 3000 miles on the 300 C and not a problem or complaint. My wife and I just love to drive this car.
Awesome sedan
I love my C and the Hemi engine. Roomy and comfortable. Great leg room for 6'2" and then some. I also drove an M for years, which had superior handling to the C. Reliability has been very good. Had worn tie rods at 30K, but Chrysler reimbursed for parts at least following my complaint letter. All components work great on this vehicle. I'll average 21 mpg in my 20 mile commute, not bad knowing that this car has unbelievable acceleration when needed/wanted.
HEMI power
that car is great. it hauls more then people and it is a luxury car. i have played with a few 350z on the freeway and they we surpised that i passed them. great car. very comfortable. the features are all perfect and the performance is great. it gets alot of looks and attention.
Worth every penny!!!!!!!
Although I purchased the base model, I couldn't imagine the ride being any better. Appointments are elegant, styling is great. Worth every penny
New car purchase
I wanted to write this to give prospective buyers a little insight. I purhased the 300C all wheel drive about a week ago and the purchase transaction worked well. I had done my homework, including all written at edmunds.com and was pretty well prepared. The one note of caution I give is the $3000 extended warranty. In retrospect, I should not have gotten it. It goes into effect after the 3 year 36000 mile new car warranty expires, but it only lasts until 7 years or 70000 miles. That is about $1000 for every 10000 miles over the original warranty. It is unlikely that the car will need $3000 worth of repairs between 36000 and 70000. You might wish to consider this before you buy.
Outclasses its competition
I have put 11,000 miles on my C and I still believe it to be the no brainer choice that it seemed when I bought it. Edmund's guides us to compare it to the Acura TL, Infiniti G35 and Lexus ES 350. I assume they do so because they are about the same price. The 300 is larger, has more displacement, more horsepower and way more torque. I compared it to the Lexus LS 460, BMW 750i and Mercedes E550. It lost, but only by a a very little. But it cost $25K-40K less. And, I admit that this is personal, but it's way better looking. The Cadillac STS is the only U.S. car that can even begin to compare and costs 17K more. Of all the luxury performance sedans, the C is far and away the best value.
Middle priced luxury
We purchased the 300C for its looks, comfort and drive. We love the way it handles and all of the extras are just great. It is our first new car purchase and it is worth every penny!
Bad Transmission
I am was very excited about my 300 but that excitement has diminished. My car has been to the dealership 5 times since July, the first four times was because of fuel problems and I was told to but a higher octane gas, still had problems until the 4th time when I had to have the throttle body decarbonized because of the poor advice from the 1st visit. Now the transmission needs to be replaced because it was low on transmission fluid for too long. Note you can not check check the fluid the dealership has to this. My question is why wasn't this check the 1st four times I went in. The warranty is gone and now I need to spend $2900 in addition to the $700 already spent in a 2 yr old car.
AOK except?
Great car for the money! Performance all aroud is a '10'! Only problem is Visibility . . . . side windows, and rear is the worst visibility. I have had first accident in my life as a result after 40+ yrs. of driving, not serious, but was due to poor visibility....also high profile tires will only last 15k miles tops.
our 2nd Chrysler product
My wife and I just bought our 300C this month after having nothing but trouble with our '06 Charger. We decided to give Chrysler a 2nd chance simply because we love the style and performance. The car takes us back to another time when American cars ruled the road. We have 600 miles on our linen gold "C" and anticipate many happy miles of driving pleasure. I secretly wish, however, I had waited and bought a inferno red Heritage edition.......We live in the desert and our color choice is perfect , it never appears dusty!! I like the safety factor for my wife and our grandchildren when they are traveling , it gives me peace of mind that they are protected. Its great to have a big car again!!
pleasing to own
ride and drive are excellent and gas mileage great. the looks and comments from perfect straingers is what makes it pleasing to own.
Excited to be back in American Sedan
Have had the car for ~one month. Love everything about it. So nice to see this styling come from Detroit!
Love It!
I absolutely love my car, probably more than any other vehicle I've ever owned. It looks awesome, drives awesome, what else would you want. Maybe one in every color? That's probably the only thing I would want to change. I love all the colors! Let's just say that I love the Chrysler C (hemi) so much that I'm sure it will also be my next car, just instead of Magnesium, which I have and love, it will probably be the blue. I'm sure I will still have the hundreds of compliments (and race offers) as I do now. Thanks for building such a hot car! Love it!
Good Car but not great
My 2006 Chrysler 300 Touring AWD is a very good car the ride is smooth and comfortable the steering is tight and handles well the engine really loves to guzzle up the fuel with this AWD and the rear seat is not as roomy as you might expect and i really like the exterior design nice and sleek except in my opinion the car doesnt look long enough it looks like it they chopped off the trunk but i wished i had looked around a bit more i would have got one of the more modern cars in this class like the Mercury Grand Marquis or Montego and Ford Five Hundred but i am fairly happy with my 300 its a good car
Great power...Great looks
I bought the car because of the great look and the potential for a powerful ride. I was not disappointed. It moves quickly and accelerates even when driving at high speeds. And yes, it makes the sound of a high performance vehicle. The sound system is great as well.
Love this car!
Shopped dealer lots and online through four states. Looked at DeVille, Lucerne, LS-430, and the Avalon. The 300 was the better buy all around. Fantastic deal -- after the rebate, it was $2K less than TMV. Love the ride, the power. Wife likes the safety aspects and the memory functions. I LOVE the HEMI! Mileage isn't great, but knew that going in. The dealer took the Contis off and put on Goodyear Assurance. Handles great and it's quiet. Didn't take a big hit on the insurance, either. Time will tell about the reliability. Hope to keep it ten years. Will repost after a few months.
300c srt8
This car is the most fun car to drive when looking for a vehicle that will look like the family car with the performance to take on just about anything.
My SRT-8
I love my new 300!!!! After a waiting period of over 10 months before it came in. The overall fun factor is great (speed, braking, and headturning looks I get). The ride is firm but it's my everyday car. Chrysler/Mercedes hit the nail right on the head with this one. Right now, if I had to buy another one, I would. The gas mileage is better than the suv I just traded.
My New 2006 Chrysler 300
I have driven my 2006 Chrysler 300 for about a week. I bought it from a fleet dealer. I did not know that it had a small engine since I really don't know much about cars and I fell in love with the car's appearance. It seems to lack power, it's OK but i need a little more get up and go...! I guess I just have to get used to it. Drives noisy like a airplane taking off!
love it!
LOVE my Car! This is my second 300, had the old model and drove it for 6 yrs before buying the newer model. This car is one of the best cars i have ever owned, looks, style and fantastic ride. My friends are envious.
A class of its own
Very stylish exterior and interior, proven 3.5L V-6 that gives ample power, great handling (amazing turn radius for a car this size), good fuel economy, cavernous and very cozy cabin, exceptional instrument layout, and fair pricing. I only hope many others don't discover what I have, so I can still be one of the "few". This is a great car, which made me proud to own a Chrysler again.
Chrysler
The ride is better than riding in a cadillac. The inside is very roomy and comfortable. It takes the word LUXURY to a level I can't describe, but I do enjoy.
Awesome Vehicle
This vehicle has awesome looks while it is a great car for the money. The Hemi is a great. The features of the car are great too. I get compliments daily on the car.
Satisfied
At 41000 miles, I give Chrysler the thumbs up for this one. This car has been fun to drive. The tires don't last long but that is a result of the tire melting 425 hp. The brakes also make this car great. The brembos really bring this heavy car to a halt. Overall a great vehicle.
Black2006 300c
Love the car but brakes pulse right off of the show room. I think the car sat to long without being moved and the rotors got pitted. Only have 500 miles on it and it's not getting better. I hope I don't have to fight about getting it fixed.
300C - ROCKS!
Purchased our new car the day after Christmas, dealer was great to work with and offered a good deal. Absolutely impressed by virtually every facet of the car. Very fun to drive looks stylish and sophisticated. A riot to drive with plenty of power and luxury ride on the open road. As this was a lot model we ended up with the base sound system, no complaints with 270 watts of Boston Acoustic sound. Highly recommend you check out this vehicle.
Loving it!
Wow, what a smooth ride! Great handling and luscious interior.
Fantastic
In over 25 years I have never purchased a new car until this one. One test drive and I simply couldn't wait a year for one to show up at CarMax. Pull up the specs on a 545, an XJR, a Caymen S...heck, check out a $170k DB9. The SRT takes them all on (with my 6'2" wife sitting comfortably in the backseat - try that in a BMW) and costs 50% less besides. I've not figured out, and may never use, 1/3 of the features they packed into this thing but that's OK. It's the perfect car for those who need a practical daily commuter / family hauler but still recall wistfully the mustang/camero/whatever they had in high school. This car is so much fun, I'm not sure why anyone would buy anything else.
IN LOVE
I bought my 300 after I drove my Dad's. I was in love. My friends were jealous when I took my car to dinner and bought it flowers. Hee Hee. I truly love my car and everything about it. The hands- free cell phone feature is awesome. Mine is a 2.7 V6 but its got plenty of get up and go.....Great on gas and what a joy to drive. Thanks Chrysler!
Can't wait 'til break-in period is over.
Just picked up my new '06 300 SRT8 yesterday. Previously had a 2000 Caddy STS. Took some reading thru the manual to find out all the cool features, which meet or exceed the Caddy. Car has a great combination of power/acceleration, handling, and braking. All in a package that is comfortable, quiet, and reasonably refined. Just close the doors on one and you'll immediately sense the Mercedes-Benz spillover. Some interior bits aren't as plush or refined as MB or Audi's are, but for $20k less (or more), it's a tradeoff I was willing to take. I got a big car with plenty of space, gobs of performance, and tons of features.
