I drive my car harder and farther than most people; yet, I have had this car for 4 years and have never had a problem. Handles OK in snow w/ 4WD, would be better w/ a heavier back end.

I looked around a lot before I decided on this vehicle. It is fun to drive, looks great, and is getting great gas mileage. No rattles, smooth on bumpy roads, and the audio system is great! The air conditioner works well and quickly. The engine is very accessible, which should help with labor costs down the line. Water, power steering pumps are easy to get to, and the stabilizer bar over the engine is a good feature.

Good, honest, basic, cheap 4WD jeep

I bought the Tracker because it was the only GM model available locally with a 5-spd (I had GM$). The Tracker is not refined, comfortable, not a very good freeway car. It is fun to drive, great on dirt and gravel roads, gets better gas mileage than any SUV (24 avg), has decent cargo space and is reliable (check cons. rep.). It is much more Jeep-like than the CRV or RAV, but with GM$ and rebates it's about $5,000 cheaper. I chose the 5 speed 4cyl, which drives like a late 80s Japanese truck but feels rugged and is fun and economical. With 4WD, PW, PDL and cruise, I paid (after rebates) $14,500. I've had it for a year now, and like it more than when I first bought it.

Good milage for a 4wd. I avg 24-25mpg. Interior is a little cramped for long trips, plastic scratches easily & leaves white marks.

The Tracker has been a very good car so far. It's fun to drive, and I've had no problems with it. With normal maintenance and expected parts replacement (battery, brake pads, etc), it's been virtually problem free. The only complaints are the lack of leg room for the driver, even with the seat all the way back, and the carpet is not very durable. This car is just what it looks like, cute, fun, and good on gas.
