Introducing Kiwi
Just picked up my 2025 equinox active in cacti green with the white roof top and named her kiwi. I am just odd at how packed with safety and technology. The top level of this trim is even more south than my Subaru, which was top-tier. Since I made a tool around in the city and in the burbs, I’m not worried much about not having a lot of power as I do not do a lot of long trips anymore at my age. This is a smooth and comfortable ride and easy to use technology even for us older people. The interior is high-quality materials much better than the 19 equinox I had and I also love the sporty and adventurous look of this active model.

Engine Misfires
With less than 1,000 miles, my 2026 Equinox RS has been in and out of the dealership multiple times. The Service Advisor and mechanics have tried reprogramming and recalibrating various computers and sensors; however, the misfires continue . GM issued a service bulletin for Equinox engines built prior to March 2025 (which unfortunately my vehicle falls under), but still the mechanics cannot correct the misfire defect. While the car is beautiful, it’s engine is a lemon.

Fantastic Vehicle
This car is wonderful. The tech package on the LT is stellar. The large double screen is nice. Apple Car Play is offered and is superior to the GM stock screen controls. The price is very fair, the vehicle is roomy, rides well, and is well built. The base model LT comes well stocked with amenities. The interior finishes are multi textured and feel like they belong in a higher end car. I love this car so much...my wife just swapped in her older car in for an Equinox. We now have two Equinox in our family.

Junk
I never liked the 2020 we had, but now I miss it. The new interior is just a laptop screen with less legroom. The seats are just as bad as before. The steering wheel is off-center of the driver and new shifter leaves no confidence for if it’s in park (already rolled into a sidewalk). The new anti-collision features just blink, vibrate and ring for anything near the road and side mirror warning detects road lines! At 6’1” I’m considered tall yet the hood shaped like the Batmobile causes blind spots. The radio volume is too close to the settings button for man hands, causing me to constantly fiddle with the screen. The car wanders (especially bad in wind) and the suspension is too soft and bottoms out constantly. With 9,000km it already has a warning to service AWD (which hadn’t been used). Overall one of the worst cars I’ve driven in the 20+ years driving and over 100 vehicles.

What a change!
We moved from a 2022 into a 2025…wow!! Chevy has outdone itself in terms of improvements and redesign. It feels like a whole new class of vehicle! The digital control displays are impressive!
