Used 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV Consumer Reviews
Chevy Bolt 2020
I have really enjoyed my Chevy Bolt. However, I’m tired of range stress. Therefore, I will go back to a hybrid vehicle in six months when my lease is up. Other than the range stress, this has been the most fun vehicle I have ever driven. I live in a hilly/mountain area. It uses twice as many miles. I have also had problems, charging my car away from my home. For some reason the Bolt does not accept other chargers easily. If Chevrolet could add more mileage to their electric cars and make them more adaptable to different charging stations, it would be great.

Better than expected miles charge.
A quick & good handling car. Great for trips up to 250 miles. Get the heated steering and the seat warmers on the LT package, save some money. The Chevy app is not as good as the KiaSoul EVs app. We could not get it to show the current state of charge. A level one charger included with this car is enough for local driving of < about 40 miles a day. Get a level 2 , 16 amp charger for charging quickly for longer distance daily driving. The Chevy Bolt is excellent car and excellent discounts are intermittently offered in 2021 for lease of this model.

Once the honeymoon is over you will realize...
We test drove and purchased our Bolt Premium in the spring and it seemed great. Then the first heatwave come and the need to use the AC was amplified by the lack of rook interior insulation making it a necessary battery / range draining option. Then on long drives the seats quickly become uncomfortable and cheap feeling. Then came the battery issues, first required updated software that reduced the max charge to 80%, then shortly afterwards came the "reduced propulsion" warning and scary loud beeping, dealership reported the need for a new battery that took 3 weeks, GM refuses to cover all costs for a rental to replace their defective product, next up denial of "repurchase request" or otherwise known as the GM buy back program, so I sold it to carmax after only 2 years of lack luster EV experience. To be honest I wanted to like this car but with so many negatives and it being our first GM vehicle ( This was my 8th new car purchase) as well as last, I have to honestly say it should have never came to market. oh yeah just a heads up the run flat tires feel and person horribly and as with almost all Ev's on the market there is no spare tire. I guess Ev's don't get flats... I was more then happy to take a value loss and sell this lack luster of an EV to Carmax...

Fun drive
A great, small, maneuverable car with plenty of interior space. We’re retired, so 120 charging has the car fully charged for any drive we make. Also have Level 3 for two 30 minute charge stops to visit a son in Chicago. That’s 342 miles from Cleveland. Just a fun vehicle to own and drive. I love one pedal. We were able to invest the balance of funds we’d have spent on brand T.
