Used 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV Consumer Reviews
Takes a long time to recharge
After buying an electric car, I found out one very important parameter is how long the car takes to recharge. For my 2020 Bolt at a DC fast charge station, it will take a couple of hours if I discharge it below 50%. My other problem is that the battery is quickly losing power. The battery is rated at 259 miles when fully charged. I have under 6500 miles on my car but when fully charged, it shows a range of 175 miles. I would recommend waiting for improvements in batteries and charging before buying an electric car. I also found that the trade in value for my 2020 Bolt with a list price of $40000 is under $19000.

259 miles?????????
I have lost mileage on every charge since purchase last March. I use the 240 charger. There is 3910 miles on the car and full charge now is only 203. One full charge was only 171. Returned car to dealer in October. They did a diagnostic and the results were that everything was working properly including the batteries. At the present loss of mileage at each charge wonder what mileage on a full charge will be in 3 years? May make it to the mailbox and walk back. There must be others having this problem or have I a lemon? I had asked the dealer on return of the vehicle for a full refund but of course refused. I needed that full charge mileage of 259 to travel to a VA clinic that is 172 miles round trip. Sure can't make that distance on a full charge of 171. What to do?

Love and hate it
My husband wanted this car. Spent the money on the home high out put charging system and such. The bolt rides good enough, front seat comfort seriously lacks big time. After one hour of sitting in it, we need to get out of it, and stretch. AC in the car is crazy great!! We live in FL. IT WILL FREEZE YOU OUT. Now there is the battery issue and the possibility of the car catching fire. I don't park it near my house anymore unless it's being charged. I guess GM will never learn their lesson with rushing cars into the market. AKA. the 350 diesel, the V8-6-4 engine, the 4.1 V8 engine Issues, and the north star engine cooling issues. We are gonna sell this back to GM and never return to them.
DISAPOINTED
I have had this car for almost 3 years and i loved it untill i got a recall about the batterie that gm has no fix . i am afraid to park it to close to my house i offered to buy a new one but there is not any for sale not very happy.

Better than expected miles charge.
A quick & good handling car. Great for trips up to 250 miles. Get the heated steering and the seat warmers on the LT package, save some money. The Chevy app is not as good as the KiaSoul EVs app. We could not get it to show the current state of charge. A level one charger included with this car is enough for local driving of < about 40 miles a day. Get a level 2 , 16 amp charger for charging quickly for longer distance daily driving. The Chevy Bolt is excellent car and excellent discounts are intermittently offered in 2021 for lease of this model.
