This is my 3rd EV having owned a Chevy Volt and a BMW i3 Rex, but this is the first completely electric vehicle I have owned. Love the driving experience and the hard plastic that some critics complain about actually seem to be right on this vehicle. The electronics are great. I have slate gray color which I get a lot of complements on.

"besides the range 259 miles. There is nothing else to be said positively about this car." that was my initial assessment. I actually ended buying one in 2021 and the experience proves quite the opposite. It is roomier than its outward appearance with plenty leg rooms and headrooms. Hipsroom are still crampy. My 26,000 miles driven (city/hwy combined) shows an average of 330 miles. After replacing the battery (recall), it seems that the car is more powerful and the battery seems to last longer (but only 3 kmiles). If this car could provide 100kW charging speed, I will rate it 9/10.

A whole new world. Very fun to drive. Love the one pedal thing. Figuring out how when where to plug in is interesting. Very happy with the purchase.

BOLT REVIEW - 122622 I’m two years into a three year lease on a Chevy Bolt. Love the car. Okay, it’s not as sexy as a Tesla, but it gets the job done fine, and costs less. (I pay $280/month to lease it for 3 years/36,000miles). Seats 4 good size adults no problem, with good leg room in the back. Small trunk but rear seats do fold down for larger loads as needed. Why lease? Who knows what technology will be around after my 3 year lease is up? I don’t want to risk getting stuck with an outdated car nobody wants to buy. Driving electric is a lot of fun! Instant pickup. Nobody and I mean nobody beats me out at red lights… Yes, I feel like a teenager again! (“Eat my electrons, baby!!”) FYI - this is my second Bolt. Got my first one in 2017, then leased this second one in 2020. We will see what’s out there in another year when this lease is up…..more and more models are coming out, and I’m open to the possibilities, even though I do like this Bolt. But my next car will not be a “MuskMobile”, no way! Another plus for the Bolt is the good old manual buttons for heat/AC, radio, and other functions. Yes there is also a screen, but unlike the Tesla, you are not required to use that touch screen for climate control, radio, or anything. You can keep your eyes on the road, and drive safely. Once you’ve driven your Bolt a while, your “muscle memory” takes over and allows you to use those buttons without having to look at them. RANGE: Summer: 300 miles…unless you run the AC. I turn it on to cool down, then shut it off. Winter: 200 miles. 10-20% less than that if you run the heater. Of course I do, but sparingly. As soon as the heat is turned on, I watch my range drop from 200 to 180. I agree that using the heated seats is a good idea to warm up while saving energy. If driving on the highway, range decreases even more at 60–70mph. FEATURES I LIKE: Remote starter (on the App or key fob) automatically turns on climate controls. In cold winter temps, the heat comes on, the seats warm up and the heated steering wheel warms, too, all without asking, In Summer heat, the AC comes on with the remote start, via the Chevy app on my iPhone. Speaking of iPhones, Bolts support Apple CarPlay; Teslas do not and never will, at least until they sign a truce with Apple. Not likely with Elon around. CONCLUSION: Long distance driving isn’t really a good idea in this car, unless you have several hours to charge it while eating lunch. Takes upwards of 7 hours to “fill it up” 100% at a normal “level 2” charging station. Very few high speed chargers that I have seen and we live in Massachusetts, and that's not in the middle of nowhere. If you are lucky enough to find one (see all chargers on a your phone app), you can get all charged up in an hour plus. Suggest you plan your trip accordingly and look on that charger station app…maybe also look for a handy restaurant for lunch. Some hotels are starting to offer charging but almost all are the slower Level 2 stations, fine if you are spending the night there. We drive an hour up to Boston for concerts and the ballet, and charge there during dinner and the show so we can blast the heat (or AC in summer) all the way home and keep the wife happy. Always a good idea. :) My wife’s (gasoline) Buick is what we use for longer trips. PS - Chevy is currently running a free charger promotion plus money towards installation. Ask your dealer. [contact info removed]l if you have any questions…happy to help.
