Love the car, but now under major recall. I hope it gets fixed.

Good replacement for BMW i3
I was too scared to buy a new EV so I purchased a used BMW i3 with 20,000 mi on it for a test. My real world requirement was 70 miles a day and on most days the i3 was able to return all electric. I drove in about 20,000 mi a year for 3 years. Chevrolet head and impressive reduction in price on a new 2020 bolt with just about every option. The larger battery pack makes it possible to travel between distance cities. Anytime I need to go someplace or go with my wife we always take the Bolt. They claim it's supposed to cost me $500 a year to put electricity in it but I charge at night under time of use and I don't believe it cost me more than $70 or $80 a year. My car has a number of safety features rides nice does everything I could want in a daily commute.

Second Bolt is better than first
This is our second Bolt EV, so we knew what we were doing. The 2020 is incrementally better than the 2017. We wish GM was improving things more quickly, but they've done some good changes. The safety features on the Premier trim are helpful and expensive to insure. The Bolt has always been a pleasure to drive as a short wheelbase car. It accelerates well, handles well and carries four or five tall people with no headroom challenges. The range is enough that we almost never want to go further than the battery allows so we don't charge away from home very often. YMMV. The Bose sound system is also incrementally better; you notice it, but the stock system works. GM has incrementally improved the software since 2017. You can actually figure out the difference between air conditioning and heating now. Hilltop reserve is gone and replaced by a slider that lets you set your full charge level. These are nice additions. Overall, I'm more pleased with the second Bolt than the first, but I wish for faster evolution from GM. Because of the incentives, this one was less expensive than a Tesla, but the price on Tesla is getting close. As my model S driving friend said last night after looking at my new Bolt, "now that we have these choices and these prices, why would anyone want to buy an internal combustion car?"

2021 Chevrolet Bolt
Awesome vehicle. I just wish it had some additional features like. 8 way drivers and passengers seats. Location of charging stations without having to use the GM app on the iPhone. I cannot get the app because I have the iPhone 6s which will not load the app. Fit and Finish is excellent. Very super solid vehicle. Sturdy comfortable seating. Would have liked an adjustable lumbar. Heavy at 3200 lbs. you can feel that. The regen throttle takes getting used to, as does no transmission shifting feeling. It certainly has get up and go. So smooth and quiet. Looks and feels a lot bigger than expected. Purchased on the internet sight unseen. All and hall. Very happy with the vehicle. Got the RED and it is really nice.

Great bargain for EV-minded people!
To get a solid 240 miles and be able to do supercharging (Level 3, 440V) in an hour is magnificent! Most reliable vehicle my wife and I have ever owned, bar NONE. After putting 40,000 miles on this car, my wife was T-boned at 40-45 mpg. 5 airbags deployed, likely saving her life. Immediately, we purchased a Bolt EUV for her, and I've since traded my Nissan LEAF for a 2020 Chevy Bolt, this time the premium model. It's like having a co-pilot that will make you a better driver. Chevrolet, your engineers pried me out of Hondas, Nissans, and Toyotas and made me proud to buy American.
