First 10k miles on our ‘19 BMW X3 M40i
We tend to keep most of our cars well over 100k miles. This one should be no different. We purchased this vehicle to both downsize and upscale from a Toyota we had owned for 12 years. This BMW is my fourth, and has largely not disappointed. Very fast, amazingly agile for an SUV, and appointed with amazing technology. High points are class-leading acceleration, great visibility, useful tech for situational awareness, spacious back seat for two(three is pushing it). Low points are gas mileage (22mpg overall on premium gas) and stiff ride(but this is the high performance sport version). Only issue we’ve had was rattling rear exhaust pipe cover. I recommend it with the understated metallic gray exterior with cognac leather interior: stunning.

Horribly Disappointed and Frustrated
I have never been more unhappy with a new car. At 6,500 miles the steering wheel material began rippling. At 7,500 miles, the check engine light came on while I had a 600 mile drive ahead of me. I had to battle BMW to replace the steering wheel as they tried to point fingers at me to alleviate responsibility for the poor material it is made out of. As far as the check engine light, the vent valve of the emission system had failed and needed to be replaced. My car was in the shop for over a week. Fast forward to 13,000 miles, again, I am dealing with a rippling steering wheel in addition to the a failed sensor in the transmission! Very scary when you are in drive mode on the freeway but your car is not shifting gears and showing it in manual mode. Then when you try to shift gears as it is in manual mode but the car is switching into neutral. I had left 2 previous messages for the service associate I have been assigned with no call back. When I showed up at BMW he said sorry but I have been busy. The car was unsafe to drive!! My car has now been in the shop for a week. They have replaced the fail sensor but AGAIN I am battling them to replace the steering wheel. I did not purchase an expensive car to be in the shop every 7,000 miles. This will be the 1 and only BMW I ever drive. Absolutely not worth the inconvenience and frustration.

Love mine
I traded my 2017 Bmw gran coupe because it was just too small and not practical and the ride was very uncomfortable. My x3 has solved all of that and rides like a dream!! Sits up nice and high, has tons of power, really comfortable and a large capacity under the hatch for hauling whatever! Wish I had done this sooner!

Great engine and exhaust sounds, ride is crap.
I leased this vehicle, the engine is superb the exhaust burps and farts in sport mode, killer sound. The interior and fit and trim are excellent, all-in-all a typical sweet bimmer, except for ride quality, (I've owned 3 M vehicles, (3)X-5Ms all had a stiffer suspension), however this thing even with adjustable suspension will beat you up, it would benefit greatly from air suspension. I'm very disappointed.
