Grand tourers have historically been playthings for the wealthy to entertain them on longer journeys, say from L.A. to Napa, or Monaco to Milan. For those with unassailable bank accounts, the 2025 Aston Martin DB12 is one of the best. It's definitely one of the most expensive, which should ensure its rarity, and thanks to numerous improvements over the last decade, the price is more justifiable. In the Aston Martin lineup, it falls in between the smaller and sportier Vantage on one side and the even pricier V12-powered Vanquish on the other.
Aston Martins have always been particularly desirable when it came to styling, but upon closer inspection, previous-generation models have been surprisingly disappointing. Under former management, the vehicles' interior quality was inferior to that of even non-luxury cars. Thankfully, under new stewardship with deeper pockets, the DB12 stands on its own. The cabin is now top-notch and the driving dynamics instill the kind of trust and engagement that were sorely missing. What we're saying is: Sell your DB11 and get this.
Competitors to consider
Among exorbitantly priced grand tourers, the Aston Martin DB12's only direct rival is the equally attractive Ferrari Roma. With the latest improvements, the DB12 surpasses the Roma when it comes to technology and convenience, but honestly, you can't go wrong with either. If you're willing to sacrifice some exclusivity for usability, the higher end of the Porsche 911 lineup will deliver more performance while the Maserati GranTurismo should turn as many heads as the Aston Martin.
