Lexus GS Maintenance and Repair

  • Oil Consumption

I own a 2006 Lexus GS 300. I have had many of the same problems as others regarding tires (replaced four at 15,000 miles) and rattles in the dash (most started after the warranty ran out). My local dealer is the only place this car has ever been serviced. All oil changes are completed every 3000 miles by the dealer. My car currently has 59,000 miles on it and at the ... Read More

  • Looking for Mud Guards for 2005 Gs-300

    Written by: cammer2 on Apr 29, 2006 1:16:55 PM

I have a 2005 Lexus Gs-300 that is white in color. Every time I wash the car I am finding the sides of the car are covered in tar that shows up easily on white. This takes about 1 hour to sit down and remove all of the tar. I have had previous Toyota products that have had factor mud guards that I can not seem to find for my GS. ... Read More

Lexus GS 300/GS 430

  • BTW, I diagree with that idea

Why not keep the 300 around? BMW keeps the 525 around, right? They have had it for years, and has sold strong, right behind the 530. It is much more powerful than the 525, and even the 530. While having 4 engines in one line may SEEM excessive, Mercedes has the E55/65, plus offer a Touring model, and BME has the 525, 530, 550, and M5. Most GS buyers aren't power-hungry ... Read More

  • Pricing on 2006 GS 300 RWD

Just an FYI to anyone interested in pricing on the GS300 RWD I test drove the BMW 5 series, Audi A6, and the Lexus. I have to admit the A6 was nice but way too long. The 5 series was incredibly fast but way too expensive. So i got the GS 300 which was suprisingly quick but not overpriced. GS300 RWD MSRP 46,320 13,800 miles per year thu US BANK 39Month ... • GS300/430 vs. Avalon vs. M35 vs. RL

    Written by: jonesok1 on Apr 22, 2005 8:55:41 PM

Having taken all for a test drive the last few days, here's my take. I have in the past tens years owned a 95 Maxima, 2000 Avalon XLS, 03 Accord XLS/Navi. I currently drive an 04 Acura TSX, and my wife currently owns an 04 Lexus RX330. The first new car I bought was a 1969 Olds 442 to give you a bit of history. 350 HP, 9 MPG, top speed ... Read More

I've got some experience with this since I had a 93 Lexus SC300 for 7 years that I put 140,000 miles on. Maintenance and service were great, the car never needed anything but the routine scheduled maintenance. I now have a 2000 Audi A6 4.2 that is a great car, all wheel drive, 300hp V-8 but the maintenance and service are terrible. I've needed multiple sets of brakes, new tie rods, ... Read More
