2019 Subaru Ascent
I should start by saying I love Subaru. I own a 2015 outback 3.6 with all upgrades. We needed an SUV for our kids and we have a Tahoe I hate driving so we have been waiting to see Ascent. Other than owning Subaru’s I’ve owned a few Volvo’s all with turbo engines. We ordered the Touring after test drive. By far the quietest car I’ve ever owned. Inside feels like a luxury car. Completely … on par with Volvo and and my mother’s BMW. The captain chairs are great and easy access to 3rd row. We were debating ascent with the Pilot. However Pilot doesn’t offer the captain chairs unless in touring and then forced to get their entertainment package. It’s 2018. What kids watch a pull down screen anymore?! It’s all iPads and phones watching separate devices. Love the WiFi hotspot and the 6 USB ports for everyone. Plus an actual outlet. Third row and cargo space was near identical to Honda Pilot. But in my opinion there’s no comparison to Subaru’s safety. Blind spot, eye sight, etc...I’ve become reliant on from my outback. The car was fast and very easy to handle. I did a very fast Uturn and ascent was solid and handled great! Only negative is the color leather in touring. Not a fan of the Java color and the dash colors make for a bizarre color choice. No doubt they’ll change for next yrs model as it’s a turn off for many I’m sure and the tungsten color should be definitely offered in touring. But that’s all minor. I’m a mom. 19 cup holders, 6 USB ports, hotspot and voice activated commands are a total win win!
