2025 Mazda CX-30
I test drove the Preferred and Select models in April 2025. Love the unique exterior look of the CX 30. The interior is upscale as well. Driving it has a sporty feel and you definitely feel the road underneath. Fun to drive for sure.
What surprised me was the interior room in the car. After reading expert reviews, I had the impression the interior was very tight and somewhat … claustrophobic. I am 5'10" and weigh 162 lbs. Contrary to some of the reviews I found the front seats comfortable and rear seating quite adequate for me, and this is after adjusting the front seats to where I would be sitting. I had probably 3 to 4 inches of space before my knees would touch the back of the front seats.
Some negatives: Front seats are a bit stiff and the car is a bit noisy until it transmission finds the right gear. But the car has plenty of pep. Also, my low back hurt somewhat even with the car's lumbar support. I would use a seat cushion for more support if I couldn't adjust the lumbar support to my liking.
Overall, I really like this car and the price is quite reasonable. It's on the top of my list when I will be buying a vehicle in the next few months. (To clarify, I test drove the non-turbo models and that's what I would buy.)
