2024 Lincoln Aviator
I traded in my 2016 MKX Reserve with 120k miles for a new 2024 Aviator Reserve about 6 months ago. It just turned a little over 9,000 miles, including 3 long distance trips, each over 1,000 miles round trip. I love it! I brought it in for my first service at 7,500 miles (oil change and tire rotation) even though Lincoln recommends 10,000 mile intervals. I have had zero problems with it, … except a minor recall due to some interference that a cell phone could have with the backup camera, which I never experienced. Before my Lincolns, I have a Volvo XC90. The Lincolns are far and away much better.
My car is a Reserve model. I loved the Ebony/Roast interior! Mine doesn't have the fancy, massaging seats, but they are very comfortable. My only complaint is that, for me, the headrest doesn't tilt back far enough. I pitches a little to far forward for me, and on long trip my neck gets a little stiff, which is really my only complaint. It adjusts forward, but not back enough for me. I don't have much need for the third row seats. Nobody here has ever used them and the are always folded down. IMO, they are good for children and small adults.
My car has Lincoln Copilot with adaptive cruise control and it works great. As is the case with any car with Adaptive Cruise Control, you have to be mindful that the car will slow down as you approach a car in front of you, so getting out from behind it will keep you on your way at the set speed. My car also has "Intelligent" Cruise Control. The car "reads" the speed limit signs and automatically adjust the speed of the car accordingly. To use it, you set the tolerance to +/- 9mph of the speed limit. I used it for the first time on my most recent trip and it works really well. Copilot has a steering assist. It works with the lane-keeping system and actually steers the car through curves on the highway. You can take your hands off of the steering wheel for very short periods of time before the car warns you to keep your hands on the wheel, and eventually slowing down if you don't. Even without using cruise control, you can use the lane-keeping system. You can use it so that it warns you by vibrating the steering wheel and/or forcing the car back into the lane. You can easily turn it off completely with a button on the end of the turning signal level.
I have read some earlier reviews which some have complained about the auto-hold and auto start/stop features. They can easily be disabled in the Sync system without the use if a third-party solution.
My car also has the self-parking feature. When activated, the car will find a spot and back into it. It will also parallel park on the right or left side. I've only tried it once and it seemed to work pretty well. I have yet to try it for parallel parking. With navigation system, it will also find parling lots or garages.
The car is very comfortable and IMO is very good looking. With the 400hp 3.0L twin turbo V6, there is plenty of power. I mainly drive it in Conserve mode (Eco) to save gas. On the highway, if you step on the gas to pass, it will easily and quickly get up to 100mph. So make sure you do that when the police are not around. The other drive modes are Normal (default), Excite (Sport), and Slippery. I mainly use 87 Octane, but occasionally use 92. It runs fine, but I get better fuel economy with the 92 octane gas. My average so far has been 20 mpg. Around town I get 19-20mpg. On the highway, I get 23-25mpg, depending on how I am driving and octane.
The sound system is outstanding. Mine has the Revel 14 speaker system. It is one of my favorite features! Did you know that Revel is made by Harmon Kardin? The Sync 3 system works well and my iPhone 13 easily connects to it. Sometimes I use CarPlay, mainly for the maps (in case the native navigation system can't locate a new address), but what I don't like about using CarPlay for maps (Apple, Google, or Waze), is that if you use the Sync home screen, it will not show those maps. It will only show the map from the native navigation system, which works well, especially if you have a subscription to Sirius travel.
The only things I wish my car had are wireless CarPlay, foglights, and the hands-free liftgate. I got really used to the hands-free liftgate with my las Lincoln, and my understanding is that it is standard with the Reserve package. When I asked about it, I was told that, as a result of the chip shortage, it was eliminated from a specific range of VIN's.
I have read some reviews complaining about reliability. Those are mainly limited to earlier years (2022). I have had absolutely none of those cited problems. The Lincoln Way App works very well. I don't know why anyone would complain about it. If it hasn't updated the cars location, simply drag the screen down on the app and it will update. The only feature it is missing, and used to be in earlier versions, is the ability to enter an address, get the directions, and then transfer them to the navigation system when the phone is connected (in my case, with a cable).
