Yes, the fuel economy sucks

I knew that the fuel economy sucks on a 5.7 V8 Toyota Tundra prior to buying it. But I have had a 2002 V8 Ford and a 2005 GMC Sierra before this truck. My last truck was a 2010 Toyota Tacoma and it had 200k miles and was a 9 year old vehicle when it was totaled. Not my fault, guy ran a stop sign and at 60 mph their wasn't much left of the tacoma. Thankfully my wife and I survived, even though we were both hurt in the accident. Before the accident my truck had ZERO issues, and i would have trusted my kid driving across country in it. I about hit the floor when my insurance company called me and offered me 14k for my tacoma. Thats the thing with Toyota's, if you want reliability like no other, and a truck that holds its value....Well there you go! I don't care about all the added crap that other manufacturers put on their vehicles. I want a truck to do ONE thing, get me and my family from A to B, Haul some toys, and don't leave me stranded...Period! MY 2019 Tundra has right at 20k miles on it and I have now had it over a year. I have ZERO complaints with the truck. Yes, it gets crappy gas millage, but not any different than the 2002 or 2005 trucks I owned with V8s. Just don't drive it like a maniac and you should be fine.

Pros: Reliable, feels very well built, powerful engine, great towing (ITBC, adjustable LED headlights, large axles & brakes), good safety tech, adaptive cruise control is standard, and excellent 4x4 system. Cons: stock radio isn't good

Tundra Beast Review

This truck is an absolute beast with better than expected fuel mpg so far. It is a little on the large side for city driving but is very comfortable on long trips.
