Have owned my Tercel for 6 years and it has been a good friend. Inexpensive to own and operate, very reliable, saved my life once, so easy to drive and park.

1995 Toyota Tercel DX 4dr Sedan

To me and my wife reliability is one of our top priorities. We purchased our 4door DX tercel in 1999 with over 120,000 miles on it and a previous rental. The car has only had one problem in the 3 years we have had it, the water pump went bad and started leaking. It has outlived our expectations.

I had a 1993 two door coupe that I stupidly sold. I put nearly 200K on it and never replaced anything but tires, brakes and a battery. Great little car. Recently I replaced it with a 1995 and am really pleased. The 1995 has much more pick-up (which makes it fun to drive - like a little go-cart) and better mileage. On the open road I can get up to 43 miles per gallon. We have driven this little car everywhere, to Vegas and back twice and to Phoenix twice and San Fransisco. It has over 173K on it and passed a smog with ease. I am figuring I will have this car for the next 10 years.

I have owned my tercel since I was seventeen years old, I am 24 now and it has been extremely reliable. It was my first car, and it is still my car. I have traveled to and from college 365 miles each way about once a month for 3 years.I transfered colleges and still kept the tercel. Brakes are easy to replace, tires are cheap, battery is cheaper to replace, and it has NEVER left me stranded.
