Waiting,. Waiting......Not waiting
Was on the waiting list for a new Sienna to replace a 2008 Odyssey. Wanted the space of a van and the MPG of a hybrid. Didn't want to pay more $ for less space and get a hybrid SUV. Finally had a chance to test drive a Sienna and what a disappointment it was. Compared to the old Odyssey it was cramped inside. Definitely not as roomy, to the point that I would not want to make a road trip in it. I'm not picky when it comes to road noise, so I didn't think that would be an issue, but it was. On the highway it was very noticeable, even to the point of aggravating. Then there was the vibration. My wife and daughter could not stand the way their seats vibrated. My daughter was in her booster seat with a back and I could see the top of the seat vibrating very noticeably. And the vibration was noticeable in the empty third row seats too. After a 25 minute test drive it was good to get out of the vehicle and stand on solid ground. All those issues were even more noticeable when we got back in our 08 Odyssey and drove away. It was smooth. It was quiet. It was roomy. And it was relaxing and peaceful. Needless to say, I promptly removed my name from the waiting list and bought a Honda. I'm giving up some MPG, but it is well worth it. And compared to my 08 Odyssey, the new vehicle is smoother and quieter, like you would expect a new vehicle to be.

Fuel gauge problems
I had driven an XLE model, which I wouldn't entertain in a million years. To have basic vinyl seats in a car and give them a fancy name is ridiculous in this day and age. But it drove okay and felt comfortable enough. So we waited (and waited!) until a Platinum became available with leather seats. We wanted the cooled seats as. well as heated seats. And a heated steering wheel. And here's the first complaint - why isn't the steering wheel heated all the way round? It's only heated at the 9-3 position, and it's a nerve calling it heated. Lightly warm should be the description. Compared to my Tahoe, which I had to turn off it got so hot. But small potatoes. I just can't get comfortable in the driver's seat. The right bolster digs into my back, and I'm not built like Oliver Hardy. Why didn't Toyota make the passenger seat 8-way adjustable like the driver's seat? My wife sits up too high and doesn't feel comfortable in it. Again, first world problems. However - and here comes the big one! - the fuel gauge isn't working properly. Right from the minute I drove it off the lot. I thought I was getting great gas mileage because the fuel gauge wasn't moving. Then one day we got in and the needle had dropped down to half a tank. Okay, that's strange, I thought. Filled it up. It did it again. And again. Then the miles to empty reading would be all over the place - I would drive 40 miles and the DTE would drop by 160 miles. One day, the car said it had 3/4 of a tank. I was running the car because it was hot outside, and cleaning the top of the steering wheel housing, when I saw the needle drop from 3/4 down to 1/4, right before my eyes. The car had been running for five minutes. It did it again after I started the car remotely (note to Toyota - why have the car turn off when we open the door? Keep it running!) I took it in to a dealership and they said they had reflashed something. It didn't work. I took it back again, and this time they checked for codes! And asked if a tech could take it on a fmaily road trip for Memorial Day, still around 150 miles on it to see how it acts. No! If I want sticky little finger ,arks all over my backseats and have a dog puke in the car, I can manage that all by myself, thanks. They marked on the service sheet I declined a road test! No, I declined to have the interior of my car wrecked by possible rowdy kids. That's what rental cars are for. The fuel gauge did the same thing again. I took it back to the dealer where I bought it, a lot further away. They couldn't fix it but told me to bring it back and they'd get Toyota tech involved. They would drop the gas tank and take things apart to try to fix the issue. They had it one day and I got the call to pick it up. Toyota told them to reset the system, because Toyota knows this is an issue on the Sienna Hybrid! Google how a fuel gauge is reset. If some of the ways is the same as Toyota reset mine, they should be ashamed. This car should never have left the factory with a broken fuel gauge, and I also paid over sticker for this car as we wanted to keep it for a while. Not now. We go out with the car and are expecting the needle to drop like a stone. We were going to do a road trip in this car, but not now. We don't want to be stranded. Nice car but not worth the money. It's only saving race is, the dogs can get in easily. Maybe they'll write a better review. ** I should say this is the 2022 model, not the '21.

Several problems in the Sienna 2022
When the temperature rises and you try to open the windows in the rear seats, it makes an annoying sound like a screeching or whistling sound. I went several times to the Toyota service department and they couldn't solve the problem, and there are also traces of friction on the driver's side window and I don't know the reason and they also didn't fix it and there are noise or sound problems The air when I reach the speed is more than 60 miles and also the screen freezes or disconnects when you try to connect it to the iPhone and the engine sound is annoying, you feel when you increase the speed that the sound is coming from below from under your feet

Perfect Family Hauler - Long term review
I have this car for about 20 months and it has been great. I have mostly positive things to say about it. I family person and need space to haul kids and make long trips across the country. In hindsight I like my decision to go with this car and I will do it again if I have to do it today. I am male and I don't care people's perception about driving van which is typically associated with soccer mom's kind of image. Its very comfortable vehicle with advanced safety tech and built with Toyota quality Pros: 1. Ample power to do the Job, I wouldn't call it slow by any means, Enough to do its job. 2. Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 seems to work well 3. The van drives more like a car 4. Capable AWD certainly helps and I have it used it multiple times in lot of snow successfully 5. When you have family you need tons of cargo space and there is no lack of it here. Cons: 1. I got woodland edition thinking to get an inch of ground clearance but loading the van the rear bottoms down. I might want to get it lifted with journey off road kit. You might also have problem if you have steep driveway 2. The heat is kind of finicky, It works but not as hot at 73 like other cars may be its the hybrid engine, Its not consistent . May be its thermostat or something, I plan to get it checked 3. Toyota woodland package is not good value for money. I would suggest to get XSE instead and get it lifted couple inches with kit (Journey's off road)

My Favorite Vehicle EVER!
I traded in my Mercedes a 2017 GLE 350 LOADED for this mini-van for a 9,000 mile road trip around the USA. Best decision ever! Much more comfortable and averaged 35mpg regular unleaded and when wife drove even better. Our's is the Platinum All Wheel Drive Model. NO PROBLEMS. Didn't even need the usual new car adjustments. Everything perfect out of the gate. I have been driving for over 48 years have had NEW Mercedes, BMW, Lexus and even Chrysler, Honda Mini Vans, SUVs, etc. NOTHING holds a candle to this 2022 Toyota Sienna. More room than our old Suburban and handles way better not to mention costs half to drive. The only negative is the Mini-van stigma. Even though Toyota was shooting for more of an SUV styling, people (especially my adult kids) just don't get it. Financially, I can drive just about anything I want and this is my dream vehicle! I hope and pray folks will get over the min-van stereotype for their sake! UPDATE: My wife and I are 64 years old with no kids at home and love this van for the room, comfort and gas mileage. Our's is the 2022 Platinum with all the bells and whistles and AWD. We took it on a 9,000 mile road trip over 3 months with Zero problems. More comfortable than our GLE 350 Mercedes SUV with much more room. When I drove we averaged 35 mpg. When my wife drove about 37mpg. I could write a book about how much I love this van!
